Default Up From the Ashes

Following my Lypo fire in which I lost my entire collection and spares built over the last 12 yrs, I am slowly rebuilding.

Have a new large shed on its way, and have found a Predator Wren for sale, which I have now bought with the little insurance money I got back.

I have found it amazing how much you build up over the years, buy a little here and there, it really does add up..

I used Heli world in the states for Predator spares, which they have a lot, I bought a load of stuff, in qty, so I will have enough spares to build 3 air frames.

The Wren I have is an old style oil sump gear box built around 2005, it only has 30Hrs on it so it hasn't done much flying, no where near as much as mine did.

I have the serial number H29140605 which I presume is heli engine 29 built on 14/6/2005

Am looking forward to stripping it down and rebuilding. Am meeting Bell Bloke over the weekend whom I haven't seen for ages..

Here is the video of the fire, and after math, as you can see it was devastating.

We could only come up as a cause that the charging board I used shorted and caused the Lypo to explode.. took 3 mins from ignition to total blaze and loss

SAD ENDING TO MY SCALE FLYING MODEL HELICOPTERS (18 min 17 sec)

Holly cow Matt, first time I see the first video. I don't know what I would do in your place. Good to see you are back!!!

You can always restart. And with a predator is a very good way to do so

Welcome back!

you poor sod.. what a terrible thing to happen, glad you are getting over it and haven't given up.

Don't know if you remember me, haven't been on here in a long time. Had a Turbine Predator a while ago until I sold it. It went to a bloke in Wales I think, no...no one local was interested

All I got left is a Trex450...though might get back into the more serious stuff!
