Default Two Stage Exhaust Options

I'm a scale electrics guy but I've started looking into the turbine world and in my searching around I've noted that both the 2 stage Jetcat and the Wren have factory exhaust that vents left and right 180deg apart.

My vision was to install one in a 700 or 800 scale MD500E. I don't think there is enough room to pipe the exhaust out the 'normal' hole on the 500 so I thought maybe out the bottom but I haven't seen anyone configure attempt this way.

Looking for any input, advice, opinions, or such you may have.

Cheers,

Rob

I actually contacted Wren about their 2 stage and exhaust options for a bell 222
this was their reply

I am sorry to advise that the Bell 222 fuselage is not ideal for the Wren 44i helicopter engine as our engine requires the exhaust to have the quickest exit route - the longer the exit route the greater the risk of overheating the engine.

The Wren Team helicopter flyer has one of our engines fitted in a Vario airframe with an extended exhaust exit - he advises that as soon as the engine is started he has to make sure that the whole unit is moving in order to use air flow to cool everything down.

If you are able to work with the airframe to allow the exhaust to exit from the sides it would be much better for the life of your engine & for engine performance.

so take that for what it's worth,,,,,
