I received this superior from a fellow freak in built but never flown condition with an enya 60x motor that has never been ran. I took it all apart, cleaned, oiled, greased everything that needed it and reassembled it. Bought new electronics and installed them. Found a nip century torpedo muffler for it also. Stripped the old paint of the canopy and repainted it in a more modern theme. Just about ready for a maiden flight. Can't wait to see it in the air.

I'm very glad you are taking interest in such a great machine from the past. I had two Heli-Stars and later a couple of Champions. The spring clips made me smile. Good luck.

It is a nice reminder of how far RC heli development has come.

Got to start her up yesterday, fired right up! Not bad for a motor that has sat since 1985! Going to go over the pitch again and then get the gyro dialed in. Maybe get to hover today.

Very nice rebuild! Love the paint scheme, though the coloring would make it a little hard for me to see at any distance. Still well done indeed.

It brings back a lot of old memories as my first 60 sized heli was the Superior.

Thanks guys! Had her out to set up the gyro and had some vibes, so I took the head off and balanced it again. Still some vibes, need to go through the motor/clutch assembly again and check it. It did hover for the first time though!!!

Did you check the static coning angle, and also for differential throw in the blade grip arms?

Both of those could make a Heliboy shake like a dog passing peach pits!

Was searching the web on what to do with my Superior and found your post.

Its nice to see a Superior back in action. I have a one that is just gathering dust. It does not fly anymore. You can have it for parts. All I ask is that you pay for shipping.
