Still don't quite get it why it wouldn't talk to your Rx. You always had an option of hard wiring Rx to Naza MC channel by channel, didn't you? That way Naza has no idea what Rx is being used, and also that's how I have my Naza-M set-up. Tom's got his hexa on Futaba S-bus, but he's got Wookong, not Naza, back then Naza didn't talk any serial protocol.

Do you mean to say on Naza-M v1 you could hardwire Rx channels to it and on v2 you can't?

Yeah that was the first thing I tried, using the Naza v2 manual.

The QR-X350 PRO Came yesterday!!! I stayed up late and worked on it this morning. I ran into a couple stumpers but I figured them out. It has a crazy smart gimbal controler where you have a button and 2 pots one for gain and the other travel limits basically. You then use same 2 pots to adjust each menu and it remembers all the pot positions, magic! I had the flap type set to flaperon in my TX and the damn aux 4 knob was controlling the gimbal tilt and the left/right quad tilt at the same time. oops. It took some time but I figured it out. I took it to the park today for the official maiden flight!! I tested all knobs and switches and they all work! This baby returns home!! I'll get the vid up when I can. This thing is awesome it holds position great even in the wind. It was quite windy/gusty this evening so it was a great night to test it. I am a happy camper and want to get the FPV gear ASAP!

OK so I got the 600mw vtx and ordered the 5800 vrx from RMRC in the links above.

Now OSD's I want an inexpensive-ish but effective OSD. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I ordered some props for the quad. The stock props are 9.25" the props I got are 8.25" but are slightly wider blades but not by much. Do you think I should use them or are they too small? Also what's your opinions of CF props?

Can't help you there. Still working on mine. All I can recommend is do your homework.

As far as the props go, at this altitude I would go with the stock size. Try them, see what you think.
Cf, tried it once, went back to APC.

VRX is coming today. So can I use a laptop as a GS? The mission planner has an OSD in the software that gives proper readings. Does that mean the quad has an OSD unit already?

No, what it will do is give you a Phoenix simulator type overhead shot with an icon of where you are currently at.
I don't know crap about Arducopter, but their ground station software is supposed to be one of the best. Better spend the day studying up on that manual. Hope your laptop has enough speed and memory. There is a g/earth screen that blows up if your laptop is not up to speed.

An osd for your flight is a different beast. It mounts inline between the camera and the video transmitter. Depending on the manufacturer it will be a hub to all the various sensors.

Thanks Tom. The Mission Planer sw kicks ass for sure. Glad you can confirm. I will read up on the VRX manual. I got my plate full trying to get stuff done before vacation, which I've had to cut short now.

Yep and that goes on the Trex450 SE v1. I got Ardupilot v2.5 with some module that gives OSD output to VTx, but as I have a small delay with the project (about a year now) I can no longer even remember what piece is what anymore...

Not to mention he also has this anal-probe looking quad, also for over a year and has done nothing with it either.
Bet Mrs. P. found it, thought what a sick puppy, and threw the damn thing out!

For the acft, always use a separate battery for your vtx tx and fpv camera.
As far as you ilook camera goes, You will need to install a 'good' lc filter to eliminate the 'noise' these things generate from affecting your fpv system.
DO NOT under any circumstance use wifi if so equipped in the ilook, ( or GP ). Bad things can happen.
I use a 3s 850 mah battery and it can last hours and hours.

I also use this filter. http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=138

The coil is subject to vibration damage so put a dollop of hot gule under it to lessen the chance of work harnening the pins.
It's a damn good filter.

This one don't work worth a shit. http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=533

As far as the monitor power goes, a slightly larger lipo can be used, or you can use an 850 mah, just keep an eye on the charge input you put back in until you figure out how long it can last, but I expect it too will last hours.
Velcro it to the back of the monitor.

No, I haven't done any more t/shooting. Jumping f1 and f2 is an A2 thing, different system.
All I can try still is reflashing the newest firmware, see if that does it.
Still too pissed at it and myself to bother while I try to get the Ranger ready.
Maybe this weekend when I'm off.

Thanks for the info.
I will likely order the filter today.

The pin jump is not just for the A2. It works with all DJI MC's. It's worth a try. Did nothing in my case but it did reset all parameters in assistant to default.

So when powering devices, does more volts mean better picture or better signal or more range? Monitor? VTX? VRX?
I have been using 2S 2200 20c for the monitor and VRX(1 for each) and using my original LamaV2 2S 800 10c pack.(still kicks) Things seem to work fine but would 3S 2200 20c heli packs be better?
