Default OMG. PARTS ON THE WAY

Finally got parts coming for a KDS SV 450, i've been staring at that thing way too long and I have to do some maintainence and then learn to fly it! There were a couple of broken servos and i've gone metal gear analog kds servo, so hoping they will be ok as I wont be 3d flying, possibly never?! I'm not sure but i think the aluminium collar on feathering shaft is shredded as i can see i looks different to the other side of head which moves freely would this be right?Gonna start there and see if it fixes the bind in there and go from there, new main gear, tail belt gear, and belt, also main shaft , advice on this matter regarding binding in the head when pitch is added or removed would be appreciated.
I'm starting by smoothing off the carbon fibre frame with 1200 paper along the edge as they look like they could cut wire easily! Cheers Andy

Are the broken servo's the result of a crash? If so. you may want the tear down the head and check your feathering shaft. It will often get bent in a crash as well as the main shaft and main blade grip bearings. Also pull the main shaft and check it too. It will also get damaged in a crash. Make sure eveything is working smoothly before you try to fly it.

Not knowing your level of experience, you might consider getting some training gear for it until you get hovering down. Radd's school of flight is a good "systematic approach" to getting airborne.

If you don't have one alredy, get a manual fot the heli so you will have a good idea of how everything goes together.

Good luck and keep us posted.
