Only thing is that it's nice if you can have metal geared servos that are only 10 grams. I've had some small failures (ESC/motor) recently, and I just picked it up and continued like with a mCPx No need for repairs and setting up the FBL controller again.
"Normally never crash"... famous last words huh?

^^ easy tiger. "Normally don't crash", not never
Probably gonna smash it up tomorrow now Spent ages looking and didn't find any 10g metal geared servos that I was quite happy with. If I crash and bust a servo, I'll just swap it with no setup req'd.

Nice! Not so much worry about crash resistance than durability and speed. What swash frequency do you run them with? If the servo motor lasts more than 100 flights then given the price I would probably change out the servos periodically regardless. )

Yep you're right of course. The test of time will reveal how good or bad these servos are. We just don't want motors burning out like the stock servos.
Speed wise they seem ok to me - and they are spec'd faster than stock. I didn't notice delays when I was doing tic-tocs this evening. I was running them at 5.25V - when my YEP turns up they'll be running at 5.5V, so even better. There is no slop in them - another plus point over metal gears. Again time will determine how much slop they develop. Like you say at that price they can just be swapped if they start to age, as long as I get a good 100+ flights then I'll be more than happy. I now have my ZYX-S fitted and it runs them at a fixed 111Hz,

Should I use the same frequency for the TGY306G as the MKS DS95i?
Can't find any specs...

I run my TGY/KST at 1520/333 for my 300X and 450 Pro DFC.
http://www.snhobbies.com/product_inf...8f6451f69c2d10 EDIT: I mean 333 for tail and 200 for cyclic (fastest).

Haven't seen these much on the forum yet:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=30687 Turnigy TGY-211DMH digital servo, metal gear, heat sink I burnt out a couple stock cyclic servos and needed replacements. These were in stock in the US warehouse and close in price. In addition, I thought with the shape, it might actually require less frame cutting than the TGY-306G. A little lighter than the the 306G also. Turns out, a little frame cutting (or grinding, actually) is still required on the elevator servo, but it is pretty minimal. The servo gearbox is just too long, and a very tight fit in the frame recess--so tight I was worried it was bending the tower and the mainshaft bearing alignment, so I ground out some of the frame near the servo screws to loosen it. Otherwise, the gearbox is much shallower and did not require removal of the "step" in the recess (like the 306G does). The included servo arm is just the right depth that no frame cutting or spacers are required. The left and right servos could go in without any modiciations (other than trimming the left rear flange to fit the frame, which most servos need). I have the Lynx frame brace, however, and needed to make 1/16" spacers for the right servo ball to clear the frame brace. Otherwise these are about as close to "drop-in" servos as you could ask for. I set the servo frequency to 200 Hz and run at 6V, and the heli flies fine. I'm not doing any hard flying yet (still learning to master hovering), but they certainly perform as well or better than the stock servos, with a minimum of frame modifications. They are not as attractive as the 306G's (they have plastic housings), but at least you'll never forget to loctite them if you have to open them up... If anyone is interested in pictures, let me know, just too tired to take them right now |

I must stop reading this forum
Just spent more money buying three of these Turnigy TGY-211DMH for my Mini-Protos. They look a little heavy for my likings for the 300X, but should be perfect in my 450. They get fantastic reviews and going off the quality of the TGY-306 I'm expecting great things.

Does anybody know if these will fit in the 300X?

0.11s at 6V sounds slow.
How many flights have you had your HKSCM9s? Are they still holding up no issue?

Yep, my cheapo HKSCM9s are still holding up fine, but I haven't crashed since fitting them either. I don't keep a log of number of flights.
The heli feels quite sloppy now, but I have also changed the FBL controller to the zyx and I am comparing it to my shiny mini-P which is completely slop free, so I'm not sure now - which is why I'm still on the look out for some light weight, cheap good performing servos. I think 0.11s is fine for cyclics - they're the same as the hitec 5065 which are very popular. I reckon higher priority requirements are light weight, slop free, torque and precise centering. Those MKS servos that Shy is using would be good if they ran at a higher voltage and fitted in the frame easier. My swash feels quite sloppy but I can't remember how sloppy it was when I bought it.

If the HKSCM9 mechanics are similar to the HXT900's which I run in my profile 3D plane which aren't bad so far. But then, cyclic servos on a FBL heli are much more demanding .

Thought I'd update this thread with a review as to the savox servos.... They've taken a beating... Light weight, fast, cheap and very durable. I would definitely recommend them. I've been running them a good few months now and they are flawless. Zero slop and not stripped a gear after 3 HARD crashes now that have taken CF blades out and several booms

The TGY-211DMH servos turned up for my mini-P. They look like a real quality servo - I'm tempted to buy some more for the 300X - only downside would be the 16g weight.
I think I also need to invest in a new swash and blade grips.

FWIW I use a KForce 40A flashed with BLHeli, run the BEC at 6V. I'd also point out the TGY-306G-HV that DoubleCH uses is 21g, so this comes in a little skinnier |

Yep, they seem to be the same quality and precision as the TGY-306G but slower and lighter. I'd say they are better suited for the cyclics than the 306G.
They are kinda like a slower version of the DS92a+
