Default upgrade burned 3 in1 with.....

hey all,
was flying this afternoon, when lost some power, set it down easy and it wouldnt spin up again. i came over to it and gave it collective input and it started to smoke! i couldnt tell what was smoking so i unpluged the battery and threw it!

its the 3 in 1! instead of replacing it- can i upgrade it somehow? if it was the rx that blew, then i would upgrade to 2.4ghz and use my dx6i remote. but its the 3in1 so what are the upgrade options?

if i go with the brushless new main motor, i already have a spare 25 amp esc from my b400, so i wanna know- do i still need a 3 in 1??? i have a g110 gyro for the tail and am running twin tail motors for extra control. the tx is stock, as is all else on cp pro.

do i need a 3 in 1 with a brushless motor upgrade?

i found out at another forum- sorry guys, too slow! - that yes i can drop the 3 in 1 and use my esc to run the main motor! yippee!
however, i still have 2 brushed tail motors! without an 3 in1 to plug into, what will run them?
if i go Direct Drive on the tail, will i need a small esc for the tail?

Exactly, I just did this upgrade on mine due to a non functional 3-in-1. I am still trying to tweak it and get it to fly right again. This heli is nothing but bad luck for me lately, but I know that after I get it flying right it is going to be much better than it was when it was stock. After I get mine working properly I will post my set up so that other can have a good starting point. I was not very successful in finding other peoples radio setups for brushless main and tail, but I will post mine after I get it figured out.

use your B400 for main motor and you will need a small 10amp or 8 amp brushed esc for your tail motors. if i was on laptop ild give you links search for it online you ill see how to do it.

GWS 6 amp or a CC Pixie7 will run the tail nicely!

Correct! That Neu RZ350 looks really interesting, but........ 4100KV range is the norm.
