I would have to say no. The screw mounting holes for the V2 are different than the Pro. Also the spacing for the gear is longer on the pro and since it is one piece you cant adjust them. Besides why would you want these breakable gear on a V2 when you can get unbreakable Gorilla gear?

I want to go the other way, I want to install gorilla gears on the Pro. Guess I'll make an adapter plate. Already gone though 6 skids. half from just hard landings on hard ground.

Maybe, I might just try that first. An adapter will support it better.

Default Excellent Geometry 101 Video!

Bob,

Thanks for the Geometry 101 video. The 90 deg. servo setup made perfect sense due to your explanation. I'm really new and about to start an EXI Squadron build, all of your videos are helping a ton.

Thanks and Keep Up the Good Work, Curt

Bob, great vids. Thank's for all the work putting them together. I've built a Rex 450 & 500 and it goes a lot easier after watching your "how-to's" on them.
Align should be paying you for making DVD's to include in every kit sold!
One question, have you been in contact with Align in respect to the tail rotor pitch issue? I'm curious why they have it set up that (wrong) way. My guess would be that they just "rubber stamped" it through the design process to get the 450Pro out on the shelves ASAP.

Default Great Heli....Motor pooched after two hovers...

Hey Bob,
Great job on the vids...again!
I got my 450 pro on friday and had it together and ready to test fly by saturday at lunch.
Great heli to build but the wiring options are really limited...
I am however quite disappointed... my motor is toast before I even got to fly it.
Right from the first spool up it made a nasty noise and almost wouldn't get through the soft start. Then it was smokin hot to the touch. Rechecked all the gear meshes and found all good. I pulled it after two hovers for tail setting and found on spinning it by hand that it had a bearing already cooked and wining! So much for flying the @#$% out of it this weekend.
The few minutes I had on it looked great though.
This heli is a Star!!
Any Ideas on how I should proceed on getting this motor problem rectified??

Todd.

Get the motor replaced by where ever you bought it from. If you bought it from a vendor that is handled by Assurance RC then CALL them Monday (do not Email them). I think you just got a bad motor out of the box... Bummer but it does happen.

Thanks Bob,
I let my LHS know right away and they told me to contact Align directly...
They got it from a supplier out of Vancouver B.C. Canada.
I'll Try Assurance on Monday.
Thanks!
(keep the good stuff coming... Say Hi To Fireup for us...had Fun with the roast! )

I hate to seem pesky, but now that you have flown the Pro, how would you compare it with the BEAM--flying wise. I don't know anyone else who can give a comparison. Thanks.

The new Pro is very connected feeling and flys a little bigger feeling. Now don't take that as OMG... this is the new 450 to get as it must be WAY better.... Guys... It's a 450. Most 450's fly just like most others within enough that there is not one 450 out there that truely stands way above another IMHO. If you were to take the top end 450's out today, you will be able to do anything with them and they will all fly great for a 450.

To ask how one flys over another you will just get someones personal perspective! I may like how the 450 Pro flys say over the Rave. Someone else my hate the 450 Pro and prefer the Rave. The 450's all are capable! Because of that anything else as far as "which is better flying" is totally a personal preference from person to person.
So which do you go by?????? You have to look at all aspects of the models and decided!!!! Parts, cost, parts availability, what others are flying that you fly with, price, upgrades (or not), support from the manufacturer, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc!!!!!!!
