Default Maiden "hop" report

This is bit premature report, weather is not cooperating, so I could only make quick hop/hover in the garden.

In short, first impression is jaw dropping (keep in mind I am coming form 250). Heli sounds amazing, looks amazing and is insanely responsive. I am going to dial down cgy750 settings (change flight mode from 4 to 3), because piro rate was insane - sacred the hell out of me

Will report again when I have a chance to fly it properly. In meantime I am going to re-check the tail.

The build was hard, I'd suggest better manual with some text explanations, would make it more accessible for beginners.

Ha! I came from a 250 as well and my thoughts were the same as yours. It's a work of art.

Had a chance to maiden it properly between rain, wind and more wind.

CGY750 needs some tweaking, it felt too soft for me, but overall, fantastic.. unfortunately had to run home because it tarted raining, really fed up with weather here..

p.s. It was my first flight using my new Futaba TF8G radio and new heli, hence my "not confident" comment. I have full confidence in quality of this heli, just not in my skills hehe..

Hey, AcidDrink, would you please post a picture of your CGY750 installation? I'm curious how it fits. Thanks in advance.

I've mounted the sensor inside and control panel outside on the tail, where most people would mount the sensor - for easy access. Works great, finding perfect center of inside frame was a bit tricky, but a ruler and white pen did the trick.

Thanks for the info. FYI, the sensor does not have to be on the center line of the heli or directly under the main shaft or any variation thereof. It does, however, need to be level and square with the frame.

Oh, I didn't know that.. I got it centred anyway
By the way I've got much more confident with the heli now after 10+ flights (weather was crap until last weekend) and CGY750 is very close to dialed in. I have my servo balls at 13.5 (for more res than throw), AFR 55/64/71 pitch/aileron/elev, AVCS damping 100% igain 50% and heli is rock solid even in 20 mph gusts. removed all the expot from CGY though and put -15 on the radio. (it's like +15 on spec radio).

Hey, the fit of the CGY750 is not too bad. On my TRex 450, the CGY750 control box and the R6203SB just hang out on the side frames. However, the Mini Protos doesn't have many convenient places to mount the control box and still be able see the screen and adjust the FBL unit. I don't think that's going to stop me from getting one though.

well, you can always do it as I did . No problem accessing the screen and I don't really see any disadvantages of mounting it like that. Control unit is about half of weight of mini v-bar/beastx, so it will not unbalance the heli.
