Default Forsa motor setup

Guys,

I have just changed out the stock esc for the Hobbywing Platinum 50A, and need to setup the motor timing and PWM rate, these are set default at 15khz and 32khz respectively, which sound high by comparison - but will these work ok, and is there anyone out there with advice on the best numbers to use.

Also when doing the 50% governor setup run, do you have to do it at the field with blades on, or bench without blades?

Default Forza motor setup

I'm running this exact setup. The pwm if running gov works great at 32khz. I tried the timing at 15, and it worked good. I also tried the timing at 4, and it also worked good. You can try different numbers for timing, but the manual says to use 32khz pwm if running gov.
As far as setting up gov store mode, you need to first program the esc to heli no gov mode and set throttle endpoint per the manual. Then go back in and change to gov store mode. Now, set one of your throttle curves to 50 flat. Take heli to open space with blades on and get it ready for a regular flight. Put collective to exactly mid stick, or 0 deg pitch. Now release throttle hold and let the heli spool up and run for about 15 seconds without lifting off. Keep blades at 0 deg pitch while doing this. Next, hit throttle hold and let heli spool down. Now turn heli and transmitter off. Now you can set your throttle curves any where between 50 flat and 85 flat depending on what headspeed you're after. I would start with 60 flat and then go from there. If you want different headspeeds, you can set each throttle curve to a different % and then switch back and forth in flight. This gov works great and I love it. I hope this helps someone.

Can you post a picture of the hobbywing 50a ESC installed? I know the stock one is a tight fit.
