How heavy is your Trex 500 inc. battery?
Thanks man!

Actually, I'm not sure on the weight. I have a small scale and a large scale, but not one that would accurately weigh a few pounds.

The power to weight ratio is GREAT. Its like a ROCKET!

Rick I just wanted to say thanks as well. I'm getting pretty far along in my build and really enjoying myself. I have been meticulous (although I still cant manage to be as clean as you!) and thanks you and several others here I feel totally confident in the integrity of the build.
This thread has been a great resource!

How are you liking your Spartan 760 and BLS-251 Setup?
If you were to do it over again what would you change?

It has been solid as a rock. I don't do fast backward flight though so I can't judge like a pro.
The whole bird has been great. I have no reason to change anything.

The Align packs were fine but I plan to upgrade to the Outrage 3000s this new year.

Don't be mad at me, but I'm going to plagiarize your setup.... i guess that means I have to buy your RX mounting mod.

Heck no. I'm flattered.

I hope you do use my mount. Everybody loves them. If I had a receiver with the leads coming out the front, I would have used one too.

Oh, now that I think of it, there is no good reason to do the Faraday Cage. The other grounding mods still make sense if you don't run a torque tube.

You are gonna love it. I fly my 500 more than anything else.

I ordered the ESP model so wouldn't have to deal with ESD issues. The down side is that I have a tendency to drag the tail practicing autos. I'm going to have to break myself of that bad habit.

If it makes you feel any better I used Bob's build vids and this thread as a blueprint for my 500 as well and I couldn't be happier with the result.

Yep used Finless builds for my 450's. Sure makes the build go easier. I'm in the parts order stage now and looking forward to the build and maiden flight.

Didn't you post a picture and specs for the drop down diode that you installed on your BLS 251?
I believe I saw it some where I just can't find it.

Thanks

Its under the shrink wrap on the back side of this pic. I should have photographed it before I wrapped it.

Rick, thanks for putting up this thread! Great job on your build,

As someone else has said, between the Finless vids and this thread, I believe that I will be able to construct a first class ship once the kit gets here. Once done, I'll throw a pic or two up.
