Floaty means put heli in a hover and pull back on elevator stick and watch heli flip without changing altitude. J/K but hopefully this gives you and idea.

I have seen this term "floaty" used a lot. Sounds kinda nice. What does it mean in terms of flying/controling the heli - is it bad or good, easier or harder to control, or just a matter of what someone is looking for in flight characteristics?

Thank you!
Floaty means low disk loading (or lower). When a heli 'feels floaty', it means you need less collective to fly it, and smaller inputs for flips and such... usually also means the heli has quite a bit of pop, but not always (this depends on the blades and overall setup).

I suppose a heli can be too floaty, but IMO, that is a preference.

Nice job BTW!

Yeah, there is a point where the heli can be too floaty for my tastes ... a bit of float is nice, too much is a PITA especially in winds.

515s .... no, not too floaty thanks to a 4000mah pack.

Stock form is the same size as a stock Atom 500.

Since I've been flying my A500 again, I actually prefer it over the X4IIs thanks to the weight.

We were flying really heavy winds this weekend and it actually handled the wind better than my X4IIs I think.

I have watching and I just wanted to mention Jeff, considering your status with the various vendors, you have done a brilliant job at being fair, supportive and positive regarding the models you fly. You've put a ton of time into each of your helis and your insight is extremely valuable to the community while remaining impartial. The best part is the honest feedback. Well done.

I appreciate that.

Each model I fly has it's own qualities and characteristics.

None are perfect but I love them all for various reasons. I'll often favour each one of them more at different times based on my flying style and conditions at the time.

Default 1445 AUW

1585 grams all up.

What's a typical all up weight for the std Warp and a common 500 class heli? Gues I will do some searching..
Not 1585 but 1445.

Sorry guys I added those heavy blades twice (they were already in the 974g figure). Just reverified. So my AUW is actually 1445 grams with the 2250mAh packs.

My old T500 was 2 kilo AUW.
Felt heavy in the air, unless i went to very high HS that would kill flight time and lipos.
Now it carries a compact camera, and spins 515 blades at lower rpm
