Also noted firmware version is 2.30,,and when I switch on while holding the mode button,,The only menu choices I get are change amps and change chemistry or exit?,,should I not have a menu with about ten choices instead of three?
No doubt I will be doing something wrong!!

I am not real familiar with that charger but sounds like you need to change the chemistry to lipo hope this helps

You can press and hold the mode button while the unit is powered on to change chemistries. Pressing and holding the mode button while applying power gives you the preset menu. There are 10 normally. If there are only 3, the others may have been hidden or disabled. This can be done using the PC software and USB connection.

Tried to connect to pc today but couldn't make it work, I couldn't find a video for the 10xp so I followed the steps in the revolectrix site video for connecting the ps8,,it all goes ok,I get the download and driver and the pc goes off.
When it restarts I plug in to the pc,and I thought it would pick up the driver and run it but nothing happens.Im no pc wizard so my wife who is, tried it following the steps and again nothing happens,,if I uninstall everything and go through it again I get the same result,,can I just check, when I connect to the charger the black wire is nearest to the chargers middle,is that right?
Thanks for helping
enlighten a dumb-ass

On the three wire cable that goes into the charger, the black wire goes toward the front of the charger and the white wire goes toward the rear of the charger.

Also check to see if you have a FUIM2 or FUIM3. The FUIM2 works with XP and Vista. But the driver is not reliable with W7 or W8.

The FUIM2 does not have W7 drivers. It works on some systems but not others. The FUIM3 is fully supported on W7 and W8.

In the CCS in the COMS section, make sure its set to "AUTO".

If that does not work double check that driver is installed before you connect the FUIM3 http://www.revolectrix.com/new_appli...re/pc.usb.html

Connect the FUIM3 and check device manager. Under "Ports" you should have one labed "USB Serial Port (COMX)" Where X is the assigned COM port. If you see an yellow exclamation, in device manager the driver may not have installed correctly.

Also you can try a different USB cable.

That's a little better. Does it ever stop saying that its searching for data?

You also try the FUIM3 tester. But note that the FUIM3 must be correctly connected to a powered up charger for the tester to work.

If it doesn't have a good connection to the charger it will fail. Double check the pin orientation. If is not it, try a different USB cable and possibly a different USB ports. Some USB3 ports on computers don't operate on USB2 or USB1 reliably.
