Why do you need a anti static on the logo, my other belt helis dont require it, a little silicone spray on the belt works.

Belt heli's make static, logo offers a wiring solution to prevent a charge from building. Belt coatings can also do the same thing. I do both methods myself.

It also has something to do with the construction of the back end.

The plastic tail case used on the old Logo 500 doesn't seem to suffer.

Safe rule of thumb: if it has a belted tail it should be grounded.

If you ask around you'll get all kinds of anecdotal evidence suggesting that it isn't needed for pretty much any heli you can name. And then if you keep asking long enough, you'll find a guy who had a crash where it seemed like the heli just went berserk and he never could explain what happened, but it hasn't done it again so he's sure it's fine. More often than not, that was a static discharge and grounding the tail would have prevented it.

Spraying the belt is very helpful but doesn't guarantee no charge can build up. An anti-static wire is so cheap and simple to attach, especially on belted logos with an SX tail, I can't understand why anyone would deliberately take that risk.

They wouldn't put it in the kits if it wasn't needed , was at a funfly a guy was having issues , added grounding wire , issues went away ..

Even the other helis that have a belt drive tail that "don't need it" have ended up in a wad of carbon and aluminum after the static built up and shorted out the flight control unit.

There is a way to make a completely conductive frame assembly and basically negate the need for a static grounding system, but I have yet to see someone pull it off.
