as per alan szabo jr. at the vegas superfly...."the t-rex 500 will cost about the same as a 450 se v2 kit".
I've seen those listed around $400.00. |

Ahhh... I get it now! Thanks!!
This means over time the prices will drop, looks like I can wait till then And I'm guessing the other helis (like HDX) are cheap, because they dont actually make them, they hire a bigger company with CNC stuff to make the parts. |

600N pro.....$573
600E carbon...$539 450SE V2......$449 Why wouldnt it come in at $500? I would bet that the head will be closer to the 600 with the alum in the kit but not an all metal head like an SE. Would be really surprized if it came with alum grips. DK |

All indications are that it will come with metal grips....
FWIW, a new 600N pro kit can be had for 495 shipped. They just aren't going for 550+ anymore unless you buy the first place you see one. Dunno about the 600CF or the 450V2. Haven't bought one of those. If the 500 is going to come with a good motor and esc, I think $500 is fair.

At RH the 450SE V2 can be had for $399 shipped, the 600CF for $529 shipped.

One thing to note is 450SEV2 comes with battery and blades, and 600CF does not. if 500 comes with blades than $500 is a good price.

This is a very good point. I just hope that Align decides to only include a nice set of blades and not one of their "Puffers" I mean lipo packs. I don't think that I even got 10 cycles out of the pack that came with my V2. At the $500 price point I will be getting one soon after they are released and replacement parts are readily available.

Ya my pack from the 450v2 kit also puffed after 9 flights. Maybe Align could be so kind to give us an extra set of good CF blades with the T500 instead of a 'puffy' lipo, and $500 will be a very good price. Am i too greedy with my little request?

Hi All,
All this talk about price. I think it's pretty simple. Align products aren't the cheapest because they use quality materials -- like carbon fiber and bling in all the right places. Instead of price, we really should be talking about VALUE. And I for one feels that Align has given me excellent VALUE for my hard earned money. I wouldn't buy their products if I didn't. And when we're talking VALUE, let's not forget about the reasonable prices of parts and upgrades and the availability of those parts and upgrades at our LHSs. Maybe that's why eleven out of thirteen serious fliers at our local field are flying TRex 600s and 450s... Keep 'em flying, LJS

Wait, is the $$ we are spending really the quality materials? Other manufacturers can use the same quality materials as Align does, but it could just be that Align spends more time making the parts work well and designing them well. Like the CopterX head for the 450, its a lot cheaper than the Align head. The aluminum itself is basically the same quality as Align, just that CopterX didnt have to spend any time designing it, all they did is copy. We just assume that it is a bad head since its so cheap and comes from a not-well-known manufacturer.

I see readyheli now has it listed under their helicopter kits(out of stock)...
This must mean it will be available soon. What's the diff between the CF and GF kits? The frames?

I believe the CF is carbon fiber while the GF is G-10 fiberglass. I have the G-10 600N and I'm quite happy with it. No durability or vibration issues.
Keep 'em flying. LJS
