Default Gaui does planks too!!!

A few weeks back, I bought myself a Gaui Tigershark Delta off of Readyheli's clearance section for my birthday. Well, I took it out last week on Saturday to attempt to fly it, and failed miserably. The first attempt was an underhand toss like I've seen guys do on youtube. Straight to the ground and broke the tail fin. Took it home, put it back together. Next day, went back out and ran into another guy that has a few EDF jets. He tossed it for me, and I got about 40 feet out if before it crashed to the ground. Took it home, put it back together. I did a little research this week to figure out how to get this thing in the air. I decided the best solution was a bungee launcher and a little more up elevator trim. So I grabbed some scrap lumber out of the garage, a dog stake, about 20 feet of latex tubing from Lowe's, a few feet of nylon cord, and a couple of key rings and I built a bungee launcher. I stuck a little hook in through the bottom of the jet, and went back out this morning to give it a go. I've ready that you want your bungee tension between 5 and 10 times the weight of your plane. Mine is just about 17 oz ready to go, so I set the bungee tension to 7 lbs, put the plane on the rails, crossed my fingers and stepped on the release...

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!

It took off without a problem, and flew great. It took me 3 packs to get things trimmed out, and it still could use a little more adjustment, but it flies great, and what a blast to fly in between heli flights. I'm sorry, no pictures or video yet, but I'll go back out to the field this week sometime and get some pictures and video to show you guys. I love that screaming sound the EDF makes when it's zooming by.

By the way, Readyheli still has Tigershark's in their clearance section, and they're getting cheaper by the week.

Default Video

So it's been a while back, but I promised video of my Gaui TigerShark Delta flying. I finally got all of my issues worked out, and had a beautiful Saturday to fly. The first video is a couple of launches, the second is just a couple of passes. Excuse the camera work, this was the cameraman's first day on the job, and this little thing is tough to keep up with. And for the price, this little EDF is awesome.
