Default E-flite UMX PT-17 Biplane

These videos are for the E-flite UMX PT-17 Stearman with AS3X Technology. I talk about my first impressions of this plane and do some demonstrations with it, including take it on its maiden flight with John behind the camera and his son Will cheering me on.

Complete Review:

Looks like a nice calm flyer. Hopefully this will motivate me to get my UMX Carbon Cub going.
One thing I did on my Carbon Cub is I changed the aileron throw by moving the control rod out one hole on the wings control horn. This allowed me to be able to do aileron rolls even with my floats on.
Just be careful if you try that and make sure its not to much stress on the hinges.
Thanks for all the great videos. I love flying my UMX Sbach, its the best micro I've found for the wind.

My LHS had a bunch of these last weekend. At $95, I was very tempted to get one.

$95?!?!?!?

It is a great little plane like mentioned above. Are they still that cheap?

Have you taken your Carbon Cub out yet?

I am glad you enjoy my videos and I think I may look into that control horn change moving forward. For now it is sweet little scale flyer though

I have 2 or 3 seasons on my Carbon Cub. I have it apart for some repairs. I haven't messed with it cause I've been flying some other planes and helis. I pretty much use it for snow flying with the floats. It helps me beat cabin fever!

That sure sounds like a great tool for the job!

I thought of getting this puppy after my Pitts kicked the bucket. Very close to getting it. That...close...

I really enjoy mine but it flies very different than the Pitts. I give the Pitts a 10 out of 10 and this one an 8.5 out of 10.

It all depends on what you want out of an RC Plane too though.

I could tell right away that they were different, wasn't expecting a stunt plane, and I wasn't necessarily looking for that. The PT-17 lacked "beefiness" in the wings, tail section. I have intermittent issues with signal with the little UMX planes, nothing else, just the UMX stuff, and I feared that the PT-17 would snap like a twig.

Looking at the new warbirds though...they finally put brushless into them, and it is about time.
