Default Vector Battery Trays

Still messing around with this kit while I wait for my self damaged Kontronik Kosmic to come back from Germany and so I thought I would have a look at the fitting of the battery trays.

Surprise! Surprise! they do not fit!!!

The C/F trays are so stiff that they will not bend the small amount needed to get them past the front retaining lips of the battery rails and into the helicopter.

No way will they slide in.They just getting totally about 60mm in.

So again the lower fuselage has been removed to try to see what to do.

Looks like lower section that has the battery rails will need removing and some modifying carried out.

Was nearly there anyway with just the ESC and motor connections to do and the V Bar to program.

Not happy really and I am beginning to actually regret buying this helicopter.

Any one else had to get around this problem?

Received my kit this week and looked over what you are talking about. I am not there in my build yet, but I can see the rails will need to be sanded down a bit since the slot is tight. Sanding the carbon fiber frame part to make them smooth is a good practice anyway, specially with the rails and battery plate. Not the first kit I do that needed that. Fitting the battery tray is just part of building a kit. In this case, the solution will be to ease out the curve on both rails. Easy to do with a file and sand paper. Reference part # V9006 at page 19 of the manual.

If you are patient, I will take pictures of mine when done.

So far, this kit is very well machined, parts are first rate and compare or are better than most. Be the damper story ( than I fixed easily with no problem -refer to the post about that) and this situation you are bringing up, are minor adjustment that does not detract from the quality or value of this kit. This is a 700 Speed Limited Edition build I believe for that..speed.
The build is just the beginning of the adjustments and tinkering that will be necessary in my view, to obtain the best performance of that kind of model.

Hang in there..this is nothing major unless you did CA the rail to the frame !!!

Didn't remove the lower section of the helicopter.

Four out of six trays I have had the edges sanded to get the tray to slide in.
Still a tiny bit tight but at least I can get them in.
The other two I have left for now, they seemed to be even tighter that the others to start with.

In hindsight as mentioned in a previous post I would check the fit of these trays in the slots in the frame before assembling the lower section and super gluing those small bolts in.

Shouldn't assume things will fit nicely even though this time I did.

The carbon fiber parts a very well cut and tolerences are thigh. As you found out, the rails and battery tray need to be sanded to give more clearance. Nothing major.
