I have posted a this question in a couple threads but after researching a bit I see it may be gyro related. When I power up the heli the tail servo does not initialize, after unplugging and plugging it back it it works fine I am running a HB-D-9257 servo from Fusonic, any ideas of my settings being wrong?

Well I did a couple more flights and the tail initialized correctly bob times and got a couple good flights in. Being this is my first Fbl gyro setup not sure where to start for adjustments.

Things I noticed and not sure how to iron out, on hard pitch pumps the tail drifts right and did a couple flips and the tail blew out on each, also had slight jitters while hovering, all stock setting atm. Any pointers would be appreciated

Make sure you're not killing head speed when flipping. No gyro can hold the tail if there isn't enough head speed.

Keep adding gain to the tail until it wags and then back it off a few.
Make sure it doesn't wag in FFF or when coming out of FF turns. You'll have to lower the gain if it does.

Also, make sure you have enough pitch on the blades. You have a copterx, and I had to do the following to my exi.

It would blow the tail on pitch pumps because I didn't mechanically have enough travel to get enough pitch on the tail. I never had an issue on my old EXI kit, but the newer "Sport V2" tail for some reason didn't have the same travel. So for me I had to cut the bellcrank arm down a little so it didn't hit the tail box screw head. After I cut that down, and adjusted the travel, I've not had any issues with tail blowout.

So what I guess I'm saying is, the gyro works. It just needs to be able to do what it needs to do.

Is it possible to use a Spektrum remote reveicer with a HOBBYMATE FBL Beast - X clone? And if so how do you wire it?

Does anyone know what’s up with Hobby Cool. After two flights, my HB800 will no longer initialize (almost gets to the end of bootup and restarts over and over and over) and I have sent 3 emails to Hobby Cool about this problem and no reply.
Thanks

Have you tried going back through setup again? Can you reset the controller to factory default.

It happened to me once, it ended up I was plugging in a battery I had flown already and not charged, plugged in a charged battery all was good.

So what's the consensus on this thing? Is it legit? Better or worse than the zyx?

My opinion:

If I were going flybarless again, I'd probably use the zyx (or the cheap 3x1000 thing) , with a computer programming cable.
It has loads of users (support base), and flies well.

I got the Hobbymate because I wanted to see how it flies. My friend had the copterx, and I wanted to be different. I am in no way disappointed, I love it, and its amazingly stable, and easy easy to set up. But the zyx is proven.

Thanks, I had the ZYX and it did work well. I just felt like it had to much adjustability for me. From PID to deadband, it took me a while to get it right.

I now have a real beastx on a 500 and it literally took me 20 minutes and it was flying great.

I have a hobbymate on order for a 450 project and hope setup time to performance ratio is more like the real BX and less like the ZYX. With a family I need flying time not adjusting time.

Then you will like it. It flies great, and is as easy to set up as you are assuming.
I actually want the adjustability

This was my first attempt at FBL. I thought it went well very easy to setup and flys great. Very good performance for the money and trouble free.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried a fully charged battery sill will not initialize and just restarts the initialization over and over and over. Tried factory reset - it will not reset no matter how long I hold the button down.

Any idea how I can contact Hobby Cool, they have not responded to any of my emails.

Thanks

Unfortunately I am guessing there CS is poor as is their quality control.

Another thing you could try is to re bind your tx/rx and or try a different rx.
