Default SK540 - Autorotation Bailout

Ive been trying to find out how the SK540 auto bailout should perform..

I have the gov. working really well and the 540 flys just they way i like which is great..
Previously I ran Bx and ICE2HV80 and used the auto bailout feature on the ICE. I could abort and auto a few feet from the ground and the ICE was spool up quickly enough to allow be to fly away without too many dramas, apart from the occasional tail sling due to the sudden torque but that doesnt bother me..

Should I be able to get the Sk540 auto bailout to work as well as the ICE2?
The moment i hit TH it kits the ESC into soft start regardless of the h/s and takes 3-4 secs before the H/S is fast enough to generate lift.. Ive played around with ramp speed hi/lo but they dont stop the ESC going through its soft start routine which is what is delaying the auto re-spool..

Should I have the ICE2 in fixed endpoints mode and spool up that way using a gently gradient in normal mode?

Or is it just a case of the SK540 not really having what i would call a proper auto bailout feature like CC ICE2 or vbar?

To quickly add:

All Castle ICE controllers:

You will need a HobbyWing digital phase sensor and Beta firmware 4.01.

Set the ESC to Airplane mode with fixed endpoints, and a custom response time of 10.

It works on Skookum pretty much identical to the VBar setups that get talked about a lot more.

I wont get into Gear ratios, I'm sure Georgi can repost his easy to understand info from other threads.

The ESC will not have a soft start, but the SK ramp quickly takes over after the initial (but short) burst of ESC power when you open your throttle. The burst seems to depend on how long your motor takes to start and the SK-720 getting an RPM signal out of it.

I have not found any flaws with this setup so far on my 450.

Im running the beta firmware with a hyperion phase sensor.. The govenor works fine so im not sure why i would need a digital phase sensor...

Ive tested the airplane mode/fixed endpoints on the bench and it works fine.. I was just a little concerned that with blades on it might strip gears... Its sounds like from what your saying that the initial startup will be like a HW esc without the firmware upgrade... This is fine by me...
Will throw some blades on this weekend and give it a try..

Thanks for the clarification..

I had the same setup on a trex 450 pro and it to worked on the bench but under load with blades on it would not hold head speed so i went back to the castle govenor .
