Default Jive 80HV Gov / HS Question

Hey guys. My friends 80HV has a strange issue.

It's on his Logo 600SE Xera 4035/3Y-400 with 12t mod 1 pinion. 12s 4000mAh packs. Throttle curve (DX7) is 60% in idle-1 his headspeed was tached today at 1720. That's quite higher than I expected for 60% on the Jive.

I'm using a HeliJive 120 v11 (although in mode 8 with V-Bar gov.) on an identical 600SE and my HS at 97% is 1710 and at 100% is 1810. (That's a whole other issue as I didn't think 3% difference would = 100RPM).

Can anyone shed some light on this?

You cant compare vbar percentage as that is set up for rpm in the unit so totally different from jive percentage, off hand 60 percent sounds about right on 12s and 12t pinion, keep in mind if not calibrated mr mels way 60% is actually much higher

Thanks Stolla. Apparently then, I need to go even lower on my friend's Jive 80.

In my case however, I don't understand why I'm getting such a large difference in Idle-1 and Idle-2. In the V-Bar software, I tried setting my max HS is set for both 1900 and 1950

Still didn't see a difference when we tached it. Per MrMel's HeliJive setup video, my throttle curve is 97 in idle-1 and 100 in idle-2

I also noticed that my V-Bar Auto Rotation bailout RPM is the same whether my norm curve (I use that for AR on DX7) is 40% or 20%

VBar governor: % in radio has nothing to do with RPM really.

You set Max RPM in the Vbar program, 100% in throttle is that value.

If you set 50000000000000 RPM, 100% will be that, you will never reach it, but that's what it will be, 1% will then translate to a VERY big number.

Thanks Fredrik.

I did tach my head at 1710 in Idle-1 and 1810 in Idle-2 but V-Bar gov. (via set up page in software) was set for max 1900. I originally had 1950 but of course don't want to go above 1900 for safety.

I'm just trying to figure out why even at 1950 max (as set originally) my HS (via tach) was only 1810 at 100% throttle.

Either way, it seems to be working good (AR bailout too) so now I just need to get up the nerve to try it from 100 feet up.
