The pic only shows -2- holes to mount the motor? Am I missing something?

Nope - there is no adjustment on the motor mount or in the frames

just out of curiosity, is the canopy the same 700N canopy? Im planing on buying the frames/parts to convert my current 700E over. I like the way align designed these frames.

Mark you are correct, the motor mount only has two mounting holes for the motor, the motor has 4 mounting holes

Ya know, I thought Align had a real winner here...until I see this motor setup...
Why would they not make this adjustable?

Why would they not make this adjustable...come on Align!

Really it wouldn't be that hard to slot the frames and make it adjustable, the only concern I have is the elev servo is very close so you may only be able to go 1 or 2 teeth larger on the pinion.

Really most all of us now know that the 700E's helis work pretty well around the 500KV range. I personally like the lower KV setups with larger pinions.

Oh well we will see how well the stock motor works. The make the changes needed to get the thing flying the way I want.

Actually, you could go bigger pinion all you want (if you were able to adjust the mount in the frame) as you would be moving the motor forward and away from the elevator servo. Smaller, no.

I don't see any problems slotting the frame slightly to adjust the motor if needed. My heli-chris has a slightly slotted frame and it's very easy to adjust and hasn't moved since day-1.

On the other hand, it does have 3 motor mount bolts on either side of the frame. Then again, no big deal. I'm sure other alum. motor mounts will work just fine on the 700E frame-set.

No worries, David.
Looking at it, I am actually thinking you could go 11T on it, and still clear the servo, but I don't think it is possible to do a 11T for a 6 mm axle anyway? Not that this is what you wanted to do, of course.

Edvard,

Did I read correctly you pulled out your Jive 120 and replaced it with a CC 160?
I was going to run a Jive 120 until my CC 160 showed up but maybe I better wait.

Hi David,

Yes - that is correct.
I am wanting to go back to the Jive though. I do like the idea of the built in BEC. You can run the Jive, but you will need to use Mode 10.
