What I don't understand is HeliDirect states the 3300 to be even smaller than the 3000 although heavier.

Here's the comparison of the "official" numbers in size and weight :

Align 25C 6S 2600mAh : 33 x 43 x 143mm / 418g
Outrage XP 25C 6S 3000mAh : 39 x 44 x 138 / 435g
Outrage XP 25C 6S 3300mAh : 39 x 43 x 136 / 480g

So from that, if the data is right and your experience is conclusive, we can conclude the 45g between the 3.0Ah and 3.3Ah would make a big difference in balance, for approx 1.5 minutes of flight time ?
We could also conclude the tray mod would have to be done for the 3000mAh too.

Am I totally out of my mind or does this make sense ?
Sounds correct to me. The 3300 on my heli (with 23mm forward advancement of the canopy) requires me to put the battery too far forward to balance the heli. It is not bad but a little forward bias. I do not mind it because of the long flight time and it actually helps me practice a little at constant corrections to hover (would not go for this on purpose but am looking to the positive since I already bought it).

The difference in size to the 3000 from the 3300 I don't THINK will make too much of a difference in fitting the battery but the weight will.

If you were willing to do the battery mod, I would love the 3300 for hover and orientation. The weight actually makes it less responsive so easier to learn on.

here is one of the ways to mod the canopy I like https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...ght=canopy+mod

I have not seen nor tried the 3000 so I am guessing on how it will balance and fit.

also, don't forget to compare the prices of these batteries and take that into consideration. The 2500's are awesome and like I said 7:30+ flight time staying safely within the 80% rule of discharge. You may want to seriously consider the 2500's. Not sure how many you are planning on buying but my brain was tired after 4:00 while learning to hover. you also should get at least two packs and 3-4 give a nice balance so you can charge while you fly and not have large downtime at the field. Not sure what your budget is but something to think about.

I bought 3 2500's before the 3300 and would do the same again.

Thumbs up

Wise words again...

I really don't want to mod the frame just yet, and after all, as you said, 7:30 is long enough for me, when flying this stuff time seems to slooooow down, every millisecond counts... By the time I get a bit of mastery, I'll have killed my LiPos, and it will be time then to rethink the whole story.

I have ordered the Outrage XP 6S 30C 2500mAh, after having read this topic : https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=79201
The 30C should make for more cycles, and a bit more flight time, while being lighter than the 3000+... I really don't like the idea of being nose heavy while I like the balance provided by my standard Align 6S 25C 2500mAh pack.

Thanks for you time, I see more clearly now

Enjoy and let me know what you are getting out of the 30C. It was my understanding that they really only helped with burst power. Most people at my field are getting similar flight times with the 30C vs 25C but they are flying mostly 3D.

Hihihi, oups, I did it again I mean change my mind... I fell on this post by Bob Finless : https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=79201&page=4 (post #34) so finally clicked on the order button with an Outrage XP 6S 25C 3000mAh
Killed my blades on a flower pot when showing off my new heli at my parent's place, so ordered a pair of really cheap 425 blades (30 $US !!!) with it, just out of curiosity...
Will tell you what I think of both in a couple of weeks, need some time to get my skills up some more in order to actually run a pack in one run without hitting flower pots

great motor. Just use the heat sink for it and oil the bearings.

I am using the Medusa -1600 and FP Evo 2500mm 6S and it never bogs even with hard collective moves.
IMHO the Medusa will out power any of the motors out there. And with the Cooling Finns the Medusa comes down just right. Packs are only warm to the touch. The Medusa is a bit heaver than the Scorpion but the power makes up the difference

Yep In power and flight time i would put the 3rd. It runs hot in hard 3D even with the heat sink. But has great power. It is heavyier but its a good motor.
My favorite in order.
#1 1706H 1.5y
#2 1905/1.5Y/F
#3 Medusa 1600
#4 600XL
#5 Scorpion 1400.

diesel ..

what kv is this new neu ?

I've run the 1910 in my 600 , sweet motor.

I'm running the 500l on a ph80 right now , almost need earplugs in comaprison to the neu.

I assume 6s right ? Would evolite 2500 v2's get eaten up on this one ?

My only other neu option i can forsee is a 1907 on 8s.

Currnently i'm not all that hapy with my 500 (500l,ph80,13t,100%,evolite 3500's,mah430,stock paddles/tail,13 (or13.5i recall) pitch , 9-10 cyclic).

I think i'm gonig to throw a few $$ at it to have a hot little heli to play/learn on. Going to go with the v-bar and the mikado conversion.

Thanks

Martin

The 1706's KV is 1250. I run it with a 16 tooth. The 1905 1.5y also runs very good on 6S on the 500.

Thanks diesel.

Do you think it's worth waiting for the 1706 ? Or is the 1905/1.5 as good ?

Looking for more performance over the stock motor, still using the 6s evolite v2's if possible.

Martin

I've ordered stuff there over a year ago: extreme blades for my coaxial heli... The shop is legit but I doubt the battery!

Hello guys,

I think put on the Trex 500 esp neu 1910H/1.5Y motor + jaz55 esc and 8S lipo.

How much need capacity on the lipo and how much I`m get min per one flight?

P.s. I want ~ 6 min.
P.s.s. One guy tell to me: 8S 2100mah, Neu 1910 1.5Y, Jazz55 NOTHING can outpower that 7min of unreal power.
Really?

P.s. What battery the best? (6s or 8s or 10s +? capacity mhA and C?)
What engine the best?
What ESC the best?

I want more power

P.s. On the Trex 450se I have Scorpion 2221-8 motor + Castle Creations 45 ESC and runing with 3S 2150 mA 25C lipo. I`m geting 4 min. hard 3D flight. Power = wonderful! After flight battery capacity left about ~ 17-20 percent.

Sory for my langure and spelling.

Thanks for answer.

I am using 2 4S Outrage 2200's on mine with a Medusa 32-50-1300V2 and the jazz 55-10-32 and it gives me great power for a 6minute flight.
I am looking forward to seeing what comes out in the 17XX range from neu. I would love to lose some of the extra weight that the medusa introduces.
