Default Gov sensor + iKon

What a good governor sensor for the ikon internal gov? And will it come with the magnets?

I'm running the align pickup alone and it plugs directly into the IKON governor plug.
Yes the pickup will come with the magnets.
You should glue them in using a two part epoxy. If you use a good two part epoxy it will last.
You have made an excellent choice by picking the ikon. I love mine.
If you would like some pics of how I did mine pm me a number or an address to send pics too and I will be happy to send you pics of my setup.
I think Your gonna be very pleased with both the NX4 and the Ikon

ditto that: +1 here for Ikon and NX4.
Save yourself some time now and pick up the T-Rex 600 Nitro fan. Some have had minor problems with the stock plastic fan deforming/warping.

Thanks for the input. I ordered the align with magnets.

So you're saying the tRex 600n fan fits in the shroud and is better?

Could someone please share their Ikon Gov. settings with me on the NX4. I'm having issues getting RPM's to hold in normal flight mode however governor in flight mode 1 and 2 works great. I figured I must be missing something small

My set up is..
Normal..2450..0 15 30 30 30
Idle up 1..2550..60 60 60 60 60
Idle up 2 2700..100 100 100 100 100

Might be mistaken on my normal mode headspeed /im not looking at it going off memory.

Thanks for the reply! Mine is very close to being the same except in normal mode low stick and TH, I have my idle set at 15%. 0% is set on my bind button to kill the motor. Do you have anything changed in the advance menus?

Normal..2400. 15 30 30 30 30
Idle up 1..2500..60 60 60 60 60
Idle up 2 2700..100 100 100 100 100

I don't use the governor on normal mode - control it with throttle curve - only on Idle up 1 and 2 do I enable the governor.
I don't fly in normal mode however - just start and take off.

I set Normal as 2400. 15 30 30 60 60 and I am now able to take off in Normal mode. I'm still not sure why it won't hold RPM at 30% but having the throttle curve hit 60% to the 2500 governed mode, I can at least take off without loosing any head speed.

The strange thing is I have no issues with my electric helis on the Ikon gov, they actually work very very well...

Are you starting in normal and taking off in normal mode with the governor on?

Not anymore, that is what I was doing wrong... I don't fly in normal mode anyway, I just use it to take off and that's it.

I done as GasNerd suggested and just use sort of a liner throttle curve to take off. That was all I was trying to accomplish.

Can you post up your governor setting in advance menu of iKon software? My NX4 headspeed dropped down drastically when I flicked to idle up 2 for governor.

Thanks,
Bat

I would give you mine, but since the firmware update my governor will not hold head speed coming out of hard maneuvers. I'm a bit disappointed because it was fine before.

That would be great My NX4 headspeed with governor is so bad, I tried to make change and got worse. Now, the governor settings in advance menu are messed up.

Thanks for your help,
Bat

Looks like this morning the guys at MSH released a new firmware 1.1.015 to correct the governor and spool up issues that firmware 1.1.014 broke.

I'm having issues with my governor.

I don't have a tach, but in idle up at 75 flat curve it sounds good, then I turn in the governor and it kicks up the headspeed and sounds like it's over revving.

My governors headseeps are

Normal 2300 - 30 flat curve
IU1 2500 - 75 flat curve
IU2 2700 - 100 flat curve
