Default What did you do with your 7HV today?

Crashed it!

Was only doing a tuning flight but hit hold and lost all headspeed and the tail did some weird ass 90 degree kick. Managed to get it down on the skids.

Not much damage. Boom, tail linkage, tail guide, tail blades.

Well, I maidened my 7HV today, got two flights in and the best was it was uneventful.

Totally predictable, tail was great might have to add a little more gyro gain which is nice.

And its fast, my 6HV doesn't have the legs this 7HV has, Im not using the stock motor, Im using the Kontronic pyro 700-52, and its plenty for me.

running about 13 degs of pitch which I may dial down as the pyro bogged, ran a flat curve of 62 on my DX8, I can only assume that was a HS of about 2150, on the Mr Mels calc.

Lipos came down a bit low after 6mins will have to make flights 5 and will setup a lower HS as well, just to see how it flys.

Really impressed by the feel of it and the speed.

I was seeing 8500 watts from my Pyro 700-52L last summer. Much more power than I expected, but it cost a lot of amps to run it there. Peaks over 245 amps! I ran mine pretty fast at times seeking the performance it could offer. You might want to gear down the headspeed instead of reducing pitch to conserve flight time and packs. It's not as torquey as the badder motors, but can develop the power at speed.

I've been happy with the Pyro 700-52 in mine. It possible to bog, but I normally don't hit that regime.

I've got a Pyro 750-50 in my new toy (Diabolo) and that seems to be a great motor. Fairly cool, powerful, indestructible.

J, you wanna trade that 750-50 for a 750-56?
I want to go 14S and my Kv is a little high for 7Hv gearing.
Mine is uncut long shaft, guessing 30 flights on it.

Sorry man... 56 won't work too well for the diabolo... I'll be off the bottom side of the pinions for the HS range I am in... I'm about to drop a pinion as it is

I can most likely do it after IRCHA Just like P800 should be quick and fun to do. You can call it Super Pro Competition Series after
