What's wrong with this thing?
Wasn't sure exactly how to describe what it's doing, so here's a video.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? This just started happening out of nowhere. I looked it over and everything seems fine mechanically. I should point out that I'm not giving any TX inputs at all in this video besides flipping throttle hold off/on. It's set to stunt-2 and the left stick is just under half throttle (the way I always take off). All settings are per Blade's manual and I've only got about 30 flights on it. Some crashes, but nothing crazy, especially for a Nano CPX. |

Not a clue, but it sounds a bit like R2D2 when he got fried that one time.

How old is the main motor? How many flights?

I've only had it a couple of weeks and nothing has been replaced yet,
Maybe 30 flights or so. And I haven't crashed it much. I've been practicing inverted hovering, so most of the crashes aren't at speed or anything and I'm hitting TH quickly each time. I bought this as a brand new bird after beating the snot out of my previous one and fixing it a bunch of times. I've basically been using the nCPX in place of the sim to learn. The main board on the old one was acting up, but I literally had hundreds of flights and dozens of repairs on that one. Maybe I just got a dud from factory? |

Gears meshing ok? I'm going with stock motor failure, plus some sort of meshing issue.

I'm with the above poster. Either the main motor is seizing or the gear is.

Is battery connection OK at board (solder)? Is main motor or tail motor pulling too much current? Looks like frequent current cutoff.
Also could be dodgy aerial connection. Check it's solder connection too.

I used a heat gun (very carefully) to reflow the solder connections near the power wire points (be sure you do not let them fall out) Before you try this, carefully check the power wires for cracked/frayed/splits and check the connector too...they have been known to come loose You might want to give HH a call first and have the date of purchase handy, maybe they'll just send you a new board (and you can try My fix for the old one) |

First thing I do is shut the yap mode off on the transmitter. I'd be firing that thing at the nearest brick wall if I had to listen to it.
Check main gear! Could have bent teeth jamming! The teeth are very fine look close or better yet replace the gear and the main motor. See if the problem goes away. Change the main motor. And make sure the tail rotor plug is in all the way. I don't think I'd power the helicopter up again until the motor change as it sounds like it's drawing excessive current and could burn the throttle Fet on the main board. Just my 2cents Ron

I'd only power it with blades off (less current draw). Definitely looks and sounds like an over current draw to me. Don't want to damage the main board. Almost the cost of a nano to replace just that.
