Bob,

What days will you be there?

I will be there Friday & Saturday---was thinking of asking to be paired up with you for the Volunteer thing.

Default Meet & Greet

Hey Guys,

I was just thinking ( hard to believe I know) would it be possible to arrange something at the Jamboree like a HeliFreak meet & greet?

I think it would be great to put faces to all the wild & crazy Freaks out there that we talk to here all the time.

Any thoughts?

Looks like I best start making a plan. Anyone driving threw Dallas or Shreveport that can transport my helis and field box from one of those two locations and and back? I'm going to try and get a plane tickets this week. What about hotels in the area.... any of them clean and cheap?

Thanks!

I got you covered. My campground is 30 miles away, and if I have some proper motivation, I can move the camper to the site.

Sounds like fun. There are a TON of HF people at IRCHA, Heli Flyers in general are friendly and numerous at IRCHA Jambo.

Indianapolis would probably be cheaper, Cincinnati is roughly 2 hours away. O'hare or Midway about 3 hours.
If you are bringin' choppers with you and you have time, Greyhound it.
They don't care what's in the daggum box.

Flying if I lived in location would be a no brainer for me.
Your looking at 2000 mile round trip. Lets say your vehicle gets 20 miles per gallon. Then your looking at 100 gallons of gas at $4 a gallon at least. That is $400 of fuel, not counting all the time you spend driving.
I went to Muncie a couple of weeks ago for the XFC, All the gas I bought was $4 a gallon or more for 87 octane. I rode my motorcycle there to save on gas cost. It was close to 1200 miles round trip. I spent $100 on gas for the bike and it gets 40 plus miles per gallon.

I am guessing the airfare you got was for Southwest and out of Love Field in Dallas. Looks like they have an airfare for $300 round trip. But the departure flight would leave at 8:30 AM and the return flight at 6:30 AM.
It is at least an hour from Muncie to Indianapolis airport. It is about 70 miles. The airport is on the west side of Indianapolis and Muncie is located about 50 miles to the Northeast of Indy.

929 miles? screw that! you are looking at 16+ hours of hauling serious butt.
It's 700 odd for me to go home, $300 each way from Indy. I can make it in just over 9 hours.. two gas stops and a meal somewhere on the way.

I'm midway-ish between Indy and Muncie. JC and I made it from my exit to the XFC in 40 minutes I believe.
