Talking X2 essential upgrades, and set up pointers

Hi everyone, newbie here coming from an mcpx and 450 sport, read a lot about your built thread, and reviews, hopefully i made the right choice getting myself a gaui x2 super combo from Jeff. I realise there're few flaws that needs to be fixed, despite the blade choices. So Tail gear pulley, the tail pinion that's made by fellow member HSC. Blade grip bearing that doesnt sit well. Am i missing anything else? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hands on will always be different i guess. But definitely looking forward to it!

Thanks! Yes the align one will work, rated higher than the gaui one. My esc is the Castle Ice 50, my LHS didnt have the Ice 50 Lite in stock, smaller...

Wowzers.... even the ICE 50 lite would be overkill in this bird to be honest! the Phoenix-25A would happily run it in a much smaller and lighter form.

Something like the kontronik mini jazz or YGE-30 is still much more than you need, but much lighter and smaller. If you are looking for something to use other than the stock, I would recommend one of those two.

The align will work.

I have a 20A mini Jazz on mine, only gets barely warm. 50A is massive overkill on a heli this small.

Thanks a lot Desert!
I will definitely look into the minijazz and yge.
Rollin_3z How is the upgraded pulley and shaft working out for you?
I've ordered the set from HSC, and he sure is a very nice guy to talk to!

Jesus a 50 amp?

Man i thought my hobbywing 30 amp was overkill.

My motor which is not the gaui one, is 2208-24

Did pull alot of amps, im sure the stock 22amp could do it, but this one runs cool.

No reason to run the smaller one hot

I don't run high head speeds so the only upgrade was skids and tail boom support. My main gear etc are all originals.

LOL I know, Im so impatient when I get inside the hobby store..was flying with the gaui esc and the damn thing shut off "twice" mid flight. Its probably due to the jst connector that comes with the esc stock.

You know Im on the original belt and it is starting to chaff, like I said the upgrading never ends...

Hey HSC, like he said, where and what o rings?

I'm using the HSC tail shaft and auto gear, and have to say very impressed with the quality / performance and with his customer service skills too

With ref to the gap between the top of the pinion and the insides of the belt, i just sanded the top of the pinion down a bit.. Now there's no chance of rubbing.

Check the thread "ultimate mods" I ges Djelom created this thread.
There is few options too prevent rubing.
First way is yust simply glued tiny orings on pulley.
I doo not now the sorce of orings, but I em shure you can get localy in any oring shops.
Second option is to send down the small guding pulley holder for a bit ( I did this in my case ).
Third is to send down Alu 72t pulley for a bit too get gap between main gear and pulley to minimum.
The main reason is keep the belt away from the gap.
Only that way you will totaly prevent "belteaten" and get a long life belt.
Regards

I dont have that issue, the belt sits just fine on your pulleys, so it may be in some part tolerances somewhere.

I do have the motor at the front though so there is no chance of the belt rubbing the pinion.
