Default Torque tube assembly

The manual says to use "adhesive tape" to prevent the torque tube bearings from moving out of position when sliding the tube/bearings into the boom

What kind of tape have you folks been using ?

"adhesive tape" to me means the white john and johnson first aide tape used in dressing a wound.

Or it could mean just about any tape that has adhesive on one side

A strip of duct tape? Friction tape? Scotch tape? Vinyl electrical tape?

What kind does the job without flying off due to centrifugal force inside the boom when the Heli is spun up

duh...
- i see that the tape is only in case the bearings move later, and that you epoxy them to the tube before inserting the tube in the boom.

used some generic tape

We've always just used scotch tape. It's always still been there later after many flights.

Using epoxy to attached the inner race of the bearing to the tube is the most correct way to do it. So there, I said it .

But...(this is one of those do as I say and not as I do deals), we always seem to be in a hurry to get machines in the air...and to save time, have always with the 800 and the 700 (same TT), just assembled the bearings on the tube with the tape, and that's it. No epoxy. And...after many many flights on both types of helis, no issues with doing that either.

You should have no issues. The bearings last a loooong time.
