The Belt CP (V1) can be bought much cheaper, and the V2 is only a little better I guess, in fact a bit too expensive. Maybe I was lucky, but mine flies OK, and for a plastic head there is not too much slop. I had it examined by some guy with far more experience (and he has a V1 and a lot of other heli's), and he said it was better.
In general, I learned a lot by not having the best possible heli, and this knowledge is really needed if you ever want to put a kit together yourself. So probably the best way to go is to buy the first version, and keep learning and upgrading until you gather as much knowledge as you can. The swash plate and the HH gyro on the V2 are definitely an improvement. The servo's suck indeed, the ESC can catch fire, and the stock TX/R/X are no good. All this stuff has already been upgraded on mine, together with the flybar paddles, and she gets easier to hover every day (or maybe that's just because I'm finally starting to learn how to do it ) Any way, a plastic head can be used to learn to fly, no problem. In time, you'll want something better.
what cyclic servos, tail servo, and gyro do you recommend for this bird?

Can this bird handle 3000 HS, I've replaced the ESC with hobbyking 30A, I will be using zippy flightmaxx 2200, would this bird be ok at this setup? Oh and I'm using the stock blades that came with it.all is stock except for the RX,lipo, and ESC

You can get away with cheap cyclic servos like the Towerpo SG90s, for only a few dollars each. They will do the job well. But there is no substitute for a good tailservo-gyro combo. Simply said, spend all you can afford on it, it will stay with you a long time, and will help you a lot in progressing. A steady tail is a blessing. There are many good gyros like Spartan and CMS, I like for example the Futaba GY520 – S9257 combo a lot for a 450 sized heli. Just my 2 cents, I’m sure some others will disagree with me here…

3000 RPM headspeed is too much for this bird, you wanna aim for reliability. The whole heli wasn’t designed with these speeds in mind. BTW, you’ll need at least glassfiber or carbon blades at 3000 RPM, but don’t try those speeds with the Belt CP. But you won't be able to get there if you don't change the motor and/or pinion. The stock motor would start bogging more easily, BTW.

just as well i asked before I proceeded.hmm I used this calculator http://dhrc.rchomepage.com/calc.htm and it gave me 3000 HS. I think it's wrong here's my specs 140T * 10T* 3800 kv / 2200mah = 2418 HS? are my calculations incorrect? What HS will I get with this setup?

Around 2500-2600 RPM at most on average.
3800 * 10 / 140 * 0.85 * 11.1 is the correct equation.
Battery capacity (mAh) doesn't make a difference.
Download the software called "HeliPort" at www.helisoftware.com
There are also some links to other HS calculators on the "useful stuff" page.

The sound will be lower all of a sudden, you'll notice the blades making a very different sound, not the usual sweet spinning. Hard to describe, sounds a bit like a soft fart, lol.

kool thank you redbird. So just to clarify before I go and read this link, at 100% throttle with my current setup i will be getting around 2500-2600 HS? If that is so, is that fine for sport flying?.

what does mnwizard mean when he say this "Idle-up- 2600-2900 rpm. Last check on my V2 was 2657 with knobs zeroed"

knobs zeroed= 0 pitch?
and when the knob is on max (Hov.Pit) = HS 2900

is this what he is trying to say. I'm sorry but I have the walkera 2801 TX.
Hov.Pit knob = increase or decrease Throttle + Pitch??.

So therefor in his stock belt cp v2 he is able to achieve 2600 - 2900 HS? am i getting this right?

2900 HS on stock, if that is the case I am happy with that!!

Lastly this last part "nterestingly, the Esky motor will pickup nearly 1000 rpm in Idle-up over a new motor, after an hour or so of run time."

Did he get a new motor?

Jack is talking about the stock Esky TX. It has some knobs to adjust the throttle curve, allowing for a higher headspeed at the same pitch, indeed. Can't say anything about his motor, you should ask himself, I guess.

Thank you for all your help RB. I really do appreciate it.

Just a couple of quick questions with this nifty software (heliport).

What mobile phones can I use this on, and works really well with?

Can I use this on windows XP?

Cheers

All the answers are right here, please take a minute to read this:
http://www.helisoftware.com/heliport.html
Or here:
http://www.helisoftware.com/hpdownloads.html

In short: Win Mobile 6.x with touchscreen and about any non-prehistoric Windows version, so Windows XP will do fine.

I'm sorry for digging up an old thread, but i'm new to the hobby, and looking at the belt CP V2. I'm reading the remote isn't the greatest or people are having issues. I've got a futaba 9c with a spectrum dsm2 module, will i be able to use my remote in place of the one that comes with it?
