I've gotten all my shipments from HK so now I have all my parts to build a Burshless DDVP Honey Bee or build a 250 either CP or FP. Not bright enough to get enough parts to build both helis.

I’m definitely wouldn’t be the person to ask, because I would say build the FP250 and do the DDVP tail for the Bee…see win win

Burshless is custom electric motor type we have up here in Oregon. One of these days I learn about spell check...

I think I'm going to start with the FP 250 and then move onto the DDVP. I'll need to get another motor, ESC and receiver to build both helis. Time to order more parts!

HH, on the DDVP. How did you get the stock shaft out of the tail motor?

The shaft is a pressed fit so I used a combination of a bench vise and a rubber mallet…it can be a pain in the a$$, but if you have a extra shaft it will make removing the existing shaft easier. I’ve been working on fitting the smaller 1811 motor on a plastic 250 tail box when I have a little time, but since my time is short these days I didn’t take any pictures of the build process to date. Here’s a picture I just took showing where I’m at with the 1811 setup.

Basically with the 1811 motor if I can remember (I did it rather quick) you want to remove the grub screw from the motor casing and then stand the motor on the motor mount (motor casing up). Tap the exposed shaft with a rubber mallet so the shaft moves down just enough to be able to remove the C-clip. Once the C-clip is removed, flip the motor over, this is where the bench vice comes in handy. I opened the vice just wide enough so the stock shaft will slide down freely when tapping with the rubber mallet. Place the motor with the existing shaft face down (motor casing side) on top of the vice and place the new longer 2mm shaft over the existing one and tap into place with the rubber mallet. As you tap the new shaft in place, the existing shaft is being pushed out. Stop tapping when the new shaft is flush with the top of the motor casing.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I was shocked as how small that 1811 was and was afraid to force anything with it but clearly it's plenty strong enough.

We've had our one day of sun and now back to rain; should have some good building time this weekend.

I did some beaver hunting in Florida a few times before I got marry and all I can say to both of you is…Be very careful…The Florida beaver has sharp teeth and loves hard wood and if you happen to get two beaver corner at the same time, you’re really in for it.
