We had a big RC festival at Sandown Raceway today with around 4-5000 people turning up

cars.boats, tanks ,planks ,Heli's ,drones LOL i mean quads , was an awesome event ,massive turnout .

I got asked to fly my Banshee and do some speed runs . I said yes straight away without any thought , after committing i thought about it and thought i have never flown in front of a big crowd , maybe 50 people max at a Club event but not in front of 2000+ people sitting in a grandstand and standing on the front lawn staring at me , and to top it off we had a 30kmh+ wind coming form E SE , flight line was N - S and we were facing east . No flat ground to take off from , getting a little nervous now as i get ready for my flight , soon as i set the heli down in a reasonably safe place to take off in the tall grass all i could think off was please take off without any problems .After lift off i didn't care as a good run is nearly as exciting as a good crash .but to crash on spool up, never gonna live that down.

Once i was up in the air i felt everyone behind me disappear and it was just me and the Banshee . After a couple runs adjusting to the strong winds i let rip a few nice fast passes which the crowd seem to enjoy , one nice and low with a massive blowout (pitchup)at full speed , she went straight up like a rocket with a massive blade fart and it happened right in front of the grandstand

I think my nerves are better off for flying in front of a crowd , it was really quite amazing feeling everyone one disappearing behind me once the heli spooled up.

was a great day for RC in Australia , truly amazing turnout and smiling kids everywhere , adults too

Great stuff! Good point about spool up. My nerves would have already been shot at that point. I hope I get the same experience of the crowd disappearing once going if I'm ever in the same situation

I flew her over fields of snow with no wind at all and I felt blessed having the luxury of making that lady soar...
Just amazing

Well because of weather I was finally able to fly with the new motor and kosmik, although it was in a 25 mph wind. So just got to test out the new gear everything worked great. Now need to install a naca duct!!!

Very Nice Micheal!! I like the tips especially the one about the rocking tail, I have a rocking tail but only at 1620 RPM...yes yes I know why bugger around with that RPM, however I seem to really like it. I cant seem to find out why, I have upped the tail gain, reduced the tail gain, upped the head gain reduced the head gain..tail just wants to rock during slow funnels. Will try out other tail blades..currently running rail 105's.

I need to start flying my Banshee more often, it seems I always tend to pick up the TDR. Ordered a BD3SX for the banshee (currently only the BD3X) so maybe that will help with regards to having more confidence with captain bail out. I for one found I try a lot more things with the TDR because of the BD3SX. Plus, found that because I have not become so personal with the build of the banshee it makes me wonder if I could actually tear her down and re-build her as good as the banshee team. Need to take her to bed I think...lol

Have you ever tried the DH711, that's what I currently have on...I use to have the rail 696's which were good but decided to change them...cant say I felt a difference.

Nice video and thanks for sharing!!

I decided after not flying my Banshee enough that I would follow my own advice. I found a good home in the US for my Banshee. I sold it at my cost without profiteering to someone who I expect will appreciate it. I have a TDR-2 in the queue and will probably end up with a new Logo 700 when it is released this Fall.

It was fun, but in the end I still didn't feel like my skill level was commensurate with this machine.
