Hello

What will happen if I use 14s A123 instead of 12s lipo on my trex 700e v2?

Does anybody fly 700 size with a123?

Very Heavy and I think the current generation of lipos have a matched or maybe even higher discharge rate.

Some say its a low C and you need 45-65c. I just run 30c because it can put out 150 amp anyways.

Those packs are likely actually ~15C packs (if you want lots of cycles). I have 40C turnigy packs, but their IR is that of a 20C pack. All battery manufactures lie about the C rating (well almost all).

A123 is a scam....they were supported by the US taxpayer....by the politicians...

They went broke....and the US taxpayers took the loss...that is those that actually pay any fed taxes at all....

And now Fisker went broke...also subsidised by 50% of the US taxpayers(since the other 50% pay absolutley no fed taxes)...and Fisker was....using A123....what a shock, huh?

And now, A123 is owned by the Chinese Communists...so go figure....

If you knew me, you'd know that I'm no fan of the government sticking my dollars into the companies but, in the case of A123, it was a reasonably solid firm for nearly a decade before the government mucked things up by trying to help them expand into the automotive industry. This wasn't a scam as much as it was bad math (cost of acquisition, electricity, repairs, etc) and bad market research (a product that was not desired at a price that yielded a normal profit) coming out of Washington and in the corporate strategy department at A123.

I may be on the edge of an OT post...apologies if that is the case. Moderators are free to delete the post if that is deemed appropriate.
