Default Hitec Electron 6 Rx (Worried)

Ive just ordered a TREX450 SE V2 with all the bits. But Im worried about the electron 6 rx and the glitch issue. Ive found conflicting reports on the reliability of these rx's in terms of glitching but I must admitt, Im worried.

If this rx is basically a risky addition to my heli, then why to companies like helidirect allow me to go ahead and purchase it? I find it frustrating considering the amount of money Ive already spent.

Am I worrying about nothing or should I ditch the electron 6?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

-Luke

If your TX can do PCM I would recommend.

PCM at a minimum... that rx is not PCM.. save it for some foamies

I been running the same electron 6 for 2 years, no problems.

PCM is NOT needed in a small electric.

Results vary. I've seen them fly on PPM 72Mhz RXs, cheap ones. I've seen them glitch so badly that only PCM or Spektrum fixed them.

Try it. Be ready to move to a better RF link.

Make sure you have a ferrite ring on the ESC line (with at least 3 wraps) to the RX or for sure you will have glitches!
Everyone I have seen successfully use a Electron 6 had to put a ring on the ESC line.

Sage advice from Danal. Since you have already paid for it, try it out. You will find out soon enough whether you are in the clear or plagued with glitches. If the later, upgrade to a 2.4GHz solution. Either get a DX7 + Spektrum Rx or get an XPS-module for your Tx and an XPS Rx.

What Tx?

Another choice is the Berg 7. Small, light and more resistant to glitching.

If they won't take the Electron 6 back in trade, then sell it on RCG if yo uare worried.

I know people have had trouble with the Electron 6 in planks, but I run a couple of them and have had no troubles.

For what it's worth, I have an Electron 6 on my Compy and have not experienced any glitches. No ferrite ring, either.

like others have said, results vary significantly. electron6 was no-go for my 450. it'd glitch every time i got the nose to 5:00 on the clock dial....and sporadic glitches to boot. i just couldnt trust it.

PCM is flawless, but i ended up pulling that rx for another heli. i have a berg7 on it now and trust it implicitly.

i'd say try the electron6. it will either work for you or it won't (not like it's going to reveal any shortcomings over time). if it works, you're done. no more worries. if it glitches, shelf it for another project and get a PCM to eliminate any further trial and error.
