Hello my friends,

I have not posted anything for a while because I was working in preparing something… I did not like my out of range over the sea in French Polynesia, even if it was a happy end. So I married my Scarab with the Thomas Scherrer Long Range System.

This is my first try in FPV with the TSLRS and second flight with the Carbonbirds 775 combined with 0905 Tri Props. Gello is gone !!!

Regarding the Thomas Scherrer Long Range System, I have the TX V5 Pro and the RX NR 600, both received from Danish Aviation Systems. Steven Friberg there has been very supportive and helpful.

The quadricopter is a QuadOcta Scarab with a Whartox. Absolutely no problem in setting-up TSLRS with Multiwiicopter, very straight forward.

Following the discussion on the VCR and the ground station, I have made a small video showing how I built a hat ground station with my CarbonBird FPV black-box. I take advantage of this video to show a nice HD scenery at the French Brittany coast (Le Croisic) with an insertion of the video recorded by the black-box displaying the OSD data. At the end of the film, you see the Scarab reaches 55 km/h (with the wind helping).

I used ground recording for 3 reasons:

1. I sometimes fly without gopro to have fun, fly light, fly longer and maybe take more risks then it is good to record
2. I like to analyse the OSD data afterflight
3. After a crash, the last images can help to locate the aircraft (including GPS coordinates)
