12z with ATG?
Hi guys..coming from JR and now futaba..How can I set the three rpm to three different flight modes?
I understand that we have to off the atg during normal flight and set rpm accordingly in idle 1 and 2.. Is that a norm? or something that i did wrong..tried a lot of ways.. |

I have the ATG V3 with a G-View display setup with the 12Z. (G-View is very recommended).
I've setup three modes: 1. Governor off 2. Governor 1800 RPM 3. Governor 2000 RPM I've assigned these settings to a 3-way switch. But you can easily assign these settings to the IDLE-UP switch you are using on your radio. Sorry, I don't have any pictures, but if you open up the GOVERNOR mixing chapter in your paper manual, you see a picture there showing you the GOVERNOR menu. As you can see you can assign 3 different governor settings (RATE 1, 2 and 3). Scroll down through the settings of RATE1. At the last setting, continue scrolling, and you will get to the next RATE mode to change (i.e. RATE 2 or 3). So, to setup the RATE 1, make sure RATE 1 is selected (the number 1 after label RATE should be bold, just scroll with the cursor until you get there, if you want to change RATE 2, number 2 should be bold, and so on). * Change ACT to ON (or OFF). * Change UNIT to RPM (if you setup your ATG governor to Futaba-mode with the G-View, otherwise set it to %) * Change SWITCH to the switch you want to use for changing the RATE of the GOVERNOR (in your case the IDLE-UP switch you are using). Here it is important to set which position of the switch this RATE will apply to, see SWITCH SELECTION METHOD in the paper manual, play with it to understand ). * Change GROUP to GRP * Change the RATE to preferred RPM of the governor, 0 if you want the governor OFF. If you don't have the ATG governor set to Futaba-mode, the UNIT setting should be set to %...I assume. Then adjust the RATE value while your in the RPM setup mode of the ATG governor (check you manual for the ATG how to get there). For RATE 2 and 3 you do exactly the same thing, remember just to set every RATE-setting to a different position of the switch you are using. When it comes to the G-View, it's very nice to set your governor to Futaba-mode through the display. This will assure you when i.e. 2000 RPM is set in the radio, 2000 RPM will be used by the ATG (so you don't need to use the G-View display unit every time changing the RPM in the radio). IMPORTANT! I've learned this method yesterday by myself and the manuals, I'm not taking any responsibility if parts of the procedure is wrong! |
