Vibration levels
Maidened my 700 yesterday
Noticing some high frequency vibrations in the tail. Live readings from BT in air are ~500 @ 1800rpm and ~700 @ 2050rpm. The log does not report any raised vibrations in hover, but does have many raised to extreme points throughout normal flight. The main blades balanced and CG'd perfectly and the tail blades weigh identical to 0.01g. Planning to do some bench vibration analysis tonight, but am curious what others are seeing: -Does the tail vibrate? -What Vibration #'s do you get in air/on bench? What besides the blade balance and main gear mesh are adjustable to pursue this issue? Currently, the sensor is mounted only with the supplied thin grey tape, but again I can see the tail vibes and am not just looking to improve the numbers by isolating the sensor. Does it get better/worse as parts wear in? I'm at 10 flights now. Thanks! |

Hey...
Dont worry. Check Out the vstabi.info Forum...for more Info, BUT My XX 800 with Silver line sensor Has 0 Vib Warnings hovering. About 100-200 during Bench Test w/o blades 200-400 with all blades in ground using a 10feet USB cable..no BT :-( AND during flight i have 10% normal, 50% Raised, 30% High And 10% Extreme Vibration Warnings in the Log doing Rainbows Funnel And tictoc stuff... So guess ur allright. Dont Thingten the blades too much helped... Cheers |

I would try and establish a base line of vibration by running it on the bench w/o blades with just the motor first (had an out-of-balanced motor once), then the motor meshed and the boom pulled back so the tube drive isn't turning, then add the boom and TT, then the tail box, t/r blades etc. Try to establish where the majority of the vibration is coming from, and see what can be done about it.
In-flight vibrations I hardly even look at anymore. Kyle's helis when flown aggressively have so many vibration warnings (that come and go), that I'm convinced it's the dynamics of the flying, not the mechanics. Constant high vib warnings would be a concern though. (-: Dave |

Thanks for the replies!
Bench vibes look good- All peak vibes @ 9594rpm No tail blades: 1800rpm =100 2050rpm=200 With tail blades: 1800rpm =85 2050rpm=120 No need for additional bench testing as these are good. So the issue could be the main blades that are not showing here, although I'm doubtful as the vibes I saw were visible in a very high frequency tail fin vibration. Another possibility is that I took the vibration readings on one of the 1st flights and the root cause is now improving? I'll check again at the field next weekend and report back. Thanks again for the help! |

Sorry for the false alarm.
250-300 vibes in hover now vs. the 500-700 observed last week.. Don't know what changed. I'm still seeing a very high frequency, low amplitude vibe in the tail that I'm suspecting could be the tail gears? |

I didn't test mine on bench, guess I am impatient I just flew it.
FIrst few spoolups I seen a tad vibration on tail fin, after 6 flights NOTHING now at all, I put it as gear break in as there is zero slop, but the whole thing is breaking in nicely after only 6-8 flights so this is good. Do you see any visible vibes on tail fin? Logos really show vibes on tail fins, if you pyhsically can not see it on tail then you are likely 100% fine cause anything of concern always shows period!
