Default Model 1001 X-Cell 60 - bent frame

Been away too long, going to drag it out of storage and get it airworthy again. Last flown was the summer of 2003.
From the previous posts I see that a few people still fly these old birds.
Glad to hear that some of the parts are still out there.
I’ll post some pictures as soon as I can.
I have been flying a Blade 400 here at home and it’s no MA but it is still fun.
Recently I have had thoughts of just buying a new .50 size kit (manufacture?) but my old Xcell still has allot of life left in her.

Spent several hours going through it, almost ready to fly. Going to replace the old gyro soon. The HH feature on my cheap Blade 400 has spoiled me.

You'll love it all over again

But you'd have to fly it at least once with old gyro, just to scare yourself!! I just did that recently with one of mine , had a Futaba 153BB gyro ; wasn't fun , but I enjoyed the challange... sort of...

The 153BB cost me more , in real $$$ terms , than a 611 costs today!!

Enjoy

Before you upgrade the gyro... It's not still a wire drive tail is it? Further, has the front tail drive pinion mount/support been upgraded? Early MAs were fine for early gyros but as gyros became more powerful and responsive, the tail drive needed upgrading. I'd hate to see you spend the money on a new gyro only to see it hurt your heili!

Cheers,

Bill
