hey , for 2 months I been useing 12s on my trex., 2 6s TP 3850s that fit fine inside the frames, got about 38 flights with a 45-06 kontronics motor , today however I got to try a 24-4 and a 32-3 on 12s , no gear ware what so ever useing a 17t pinion on the 32-3. Its got great Power. long flights , I have my timer set at 7 min , takes 30 seconds to spool up , and your ready . compared to the 45-06 , I got the same flight time , but about 7 to 10% more power
its been fun

Question

I am looking at getting a T-Rex 600 and ruinning off of 8S as I have a number of 4S batteries from my Lepton that I can run in series. I have seen a number of motors being used with 8S in this dscussion and the other one in the sticky section. Most seem to be running Neu motors but different ones. From those of you out there that are running 8S, which motor works best for the 600 on 8S and why?

Thanks,

Steve

It seems as if the majority advocates for 8s, 10s packs, or even higher for, the T-rex 600.

My question is: Can T-rex 600 be flown "satisfactory" with 6s packs, if I have no plans for 3D or any other advanced flying? And what flying times can you achieve on 6S packs?

Thanks

Peter

ABSOLUTELY. Even you might get the impression here that most people flying 8 or 10S, the majority of 600 flyers is still using 6S.
The power on 6S is enough do do all sorts of flying including 3D.
You should expect 5 to 6min flying times doing 3D dependant of flying style.
If you lower the HS slightly and doing mostly sport flying, you may reach around 7min.

Default check my setup please

I have a 600 on the way which would probably be fine for me in the stock configuration running 6s but I would rather spend a bunch now and make sure that I don't outgrow it and have to a WHOLE BUNCH later to redo everything.

Here is what I am looking at:

NEU 1515H/1.5y or 1910H/1y

FP 3700 8S

CC HV85

Couple of questions.

- I WILL not be going higher than 8S, if I ever need more than this (not going to happen) I will go with a N90. With this in mind which of the NEU motors are suggested?

- From what I read the 19XX may not fit the stock frame, is this so? That might make the decision easier.

- Will either of the motors be pushing the FP to it's limits to where their life expectancy will be shortened?

Thanks for any help in these matters,

Thomas

I just bought a 600CF and I plan on starting out with a Mega 22/30/3E 1050kv with a 17t Mikado at 6S, 2 X 3S, 2005rpm. Once I get compfy I will step up to 8S, 2 X 4S. I have a question as to how long I can go with my seriese conector. I just stepped up my QJ 8EX to 6S, 2 X 3S, and I am new at this. I know that length translates to resistance and I dont want to loose, or restrict my available power. I am using Deans " WET NOODLE " 12 gauge wire.

I've used both of these motors on 8S and they both rock - the 1515 drops straight in whilst the 1910 has a bigger diameter and needs a minor frame mod . SUbjectively the 1515/1.5Y seemed to have more power but ran way hotter - I have some FDR of this. The 1910 is probably a bit easier to find.

Hello ,

I have T-rex 600Cf and fly with EVO 25 6s 4900mah, also fly with 8S A123.
When I fly with 8S A123, normal 5min, on 3D fly 3 min and 30 sec.
Tell me pls. what is your fly with 12s A123: normal and 3D ? (in minute)
What you think about the weight of heli, with 12s A123,(1kg more) how you feel the heli, in normal fly and 3D, in case that 12sA123 give 19.8V and the weight is more. I have pack 12S A123 who is weight 1kg.

This is a tough question to answer. It depends on how hard you fly.

With my 12sA123 setup I see the following:

I fly sport/mild 3d and set my timer for 4 minutes and usually have a little bit left over. Typically I put back about 1800-2000mAh depending on the flight.

I fly quite fast and hard with lots of collective...

I am putting together a 600GF with a 1910H/1Y and FP 8S 3700 packs and a CC PH-85HV.

Can the headspeed be dropped down to 1800 for flying around (idle-1) and bumped up to 2100 (idle-2) for harder 3D, all on the same pinion? Without ruining the speedo?

I'd like to be able to have both for different flying styles and for more flight time.

Thanks

Yes - although it's true the ESC runs less efficiently at lower power ratings this only runs it a few C warmer so by all means try a 70% and a 100% curves - in the non-gov mode on the CC 85 a V-throttle curve seems to work well !

What is the maximum battery weight for a T-rex600E?

And if you have two 6s1p 20C 3300 mAh packs, what would be the preferred setup?

1) In parallel giving 6s2p 20C 6600 mAh?
2) In serial giving 12s1p 20C 3300 mAh?

Default 500 3D power options

I am seriously considering a Logo 500 3D. I have a Trex 450 SE and was thinking about a Trex 500 because of being able to use my 3s batteries for both. So here's the question: Can I use two 3s batteries hooked up in series like you can for the Trex 500?

Not enough mAh - the Logo 500 is appreaciably bigger and heavier than the TREX500 and the batteries from your T450 wouldn't have enough capacity for more than ~3 mins flight - the Logo uses 3700-5350 mAh packs. This would be better discussed in the Mikado or T500 forums !

Question Flight Time

Any advice Please

I purchased flight power 4270Mah 6S cell 22.2volt 2C EVO Lite so far every thing works well, but (TREX600)
I am not getting enough flight time.I think maybe under 5 min.I set up per finless
vids. Everything is good except the fight time.
Could I maybe alter the throttle curves?
I don't want to have to buy another batt yet.I maybe did not buy high enough Mah rating
The heli is all stock.

Any help would be great
Randy

4270 mAh is 15% less capacity than a 5000 pack which would give you ~1min less flight time than the more common 5000 size. Flight time is inversely proprtional to power so if you want longer flight times you have to reduce power drain - one of those cycle of life things. So if you want to reduce power you can reduce HS by lowering the idle up say 5-10% - if you're flying light sport there's no need for 100% flat curves - they just waste power in maintaining HS. If you have an 11t pinion you could put on a 10t - you can modify your flight style and be careful with collective management (pitch pumping drains power) - you might even try a lighter set of blades eg the Align 600B or more efficient blades like the V-Blade TST. The quickest way is to buy a bigger pack though I'm afraid

Default Stock 600XL and 75a ESC upgrade?

Hi guys, I've been using the stock setup since I got my 600 a couple of months ago. I've been reading the forums here and find that the 600XL (1650kv) motor could fail on me. I'm using 6s setup. I'd consider sticking with my 6s setup and upgrade the motor to a Neu 1515/2.5D/F/H.
1. should I be worried about the 2 month old XL motor (has good enough power for my current skills)
2. Is the Neu worth the money.
3. Will I need to upgrade the ESC (CC85HV or similar)

Would really appreciate any advice to be me out of my misery.
Bear in mind I'm only flying 4-5 months and only doing simple 3D stuff like flips, rolls and some other stuff that I don't know the cool and trendy names for.

Thanks in advance

Ncampion, i have been through many XL motors and 3 Neu motors, for the money get a XL , it seems to make the lipos last longer. the problem is the 6s lipo doest give us many motor options, the best neu would be something like a 1515 2.5 @ 1700kv. but even these motors kill bearings and break shafts.
we need a good 6s motor, anyone got something new?

Many thanks for the no messing around answer. I appreciate the 'from experience answer'.
One last question. I'm currently using the 10t pinion straight. I have the 11t - will using this have any adverse effects on my power system (Align 75amp esc, 6s battery and XL motor). Also will it it bog if i use the 11t.

thanks again in advance.
