Default How to charge through the balance leads

Hello. Its my understanding that if I charge my packs through the high power lead and the balance lead, that the cells won't be balanced as well as if I would have only charged through the balance lead.

So if I want to really even out all of the cells in my 6s packs, I would charge and discharge only through the balance lead, at the max of 2A, and my cells would all be perfectly even right?

I can't seem to charge through the balance lead though. Unless I change it to FMA wiring I don't even see the option. Once I change it to FMA wiring, and I chose "charge through banana plugs yes or no" I chose no, and then it gives me another error. (sorry I forgot the error I'm at work right now....)

Could someone help me confirm my theory and tell me what I might be doing wrong by attempting to charge through only the balance lead? Thanks.

The packs balance just as well when using the main & balance leads. It's just going to take longer if you're charging large packs because of the current limitation of the balance leads only.

I believe they are only rated up to 3A.

I'm pretty sure you can only do balance node charging using FMA wiring mode.

In addition, you didn't mention which charger you have but only the Cellpro 10s and PL8 will do balance node only charging.

Not true at all. During node only charging, the charge current still goes through the pack's positive and negative balance leads. For the purposes of balancing, this is no different than charging with the main leads.

If you want super precise balancing, charge a single pack (not in parallel) and use preset #1 accurate charge. There are additional settings in that preset that ensure a higher level of balancing at the expense of time.
