Well I got my Xnova motor shafts today and put one in. Only did one flight but it seems this is the answer because when I pulled the pinion the shaft looked fine and by feel I could not discern a ridge on the edge of where the OWBs run. I was able to score this shaft with a file though so I don't think it is hardened as much as it could be.

I also have some 60+ rockwell hardness shaft coming and may end up using that instead.

But I will fly more flights on this stock motor shaft and see how it wears. I did clean the pinion OWB and re-oiled it with synthetic 10-40w amsoil as well.

Default MSH motor shaft...

This is my motor shaft of stock MSH motor. It looks like the inner rings of bearing does not really fit to the shaft.

I got 100 flights only.

I'm not sure, this was a note from last year. Maybe I come back in fall.

I'v reopened the Motor after 15 flights again. The new motor shaft looks like the same. Maybe 3 800 blades are to much for the Protos Max and the drive system. I should go back to 2 blades only.

Next time you replace the shaft and bearings, I would use green loctite between shaft and inner bearing race to prevent bearing slip as much as possible.

does your one way slip? Mine looks exactly the same, but I never had any issues with one way slipping, so I guess it's all good.

Xnova makes them for all applications for their own motors since there are other options as well
