OK here is a video of my Gaui 425 with an X5 canopy doing some gentle sports flying. I think it looks good.

installed !!
ok my new X5 canopy installed- this is what I got local hobby store 0 local hardware store scores. I used one 3/32 x 3" threaded kinda looks like a pushrod wire , two yellow plastic dry wall anchors , 2 brass nuts to fit the threaded pushrod wire, and 2 prop spacers for the main pins at the top to give you clearence for your servo linkage. heres the photos:

as you see my canopy does sit alittle lower -cause I wanted libo's on the bottom if you do the top tray you will have to adjust where you drill your hole to rise it or lower it to your liking , also you see plenty of room inside that shell should be good airflow . test flight maybe this weekend- I was able to to lift the entire heli up by the canopy and is very stirdy . Well I would also keep the stock mount on so you can switch back if you have too conventenal canopy -have fun and happy flying

follow up
Ok I did a couple flights but forgot my camera, it was windy out. the Flights went really good I just have to get used to having a darker color canopy-- today was a cloudy day and prospective on my bird took alot of concentration to keep oriontation . First I wanna say I really love the X-5 canopy it so much easier to pop it off to change batteries, also think its much more sturdier. after my flights I observed a much cooler esc , motor and lipos . I think that compared to stock canopy I would change again to the X5 in a heart beat
Better looks, more room, cooler electrionics |
