What did you shoot at ? 4k/2.7k/1080/720?
frame rate? 15,29.97,30 60?

Gopro forums will help you out more

http://www.goproforums.com/

download the free editing software form GoPro. Shoot at 2.7K 30fps edit in 1080

export .

Goblin 500 Flight 1:4:2014 (5 min 8 sec)

Here is a video I took from my GoPro 3+ this past week. I had the same problem you did. I waited like an hour and a half for the vid to upload and after it finished it looked awful and I was disappointed. Just like you, the video was excellent on my computer. Out of curiosity I went back to check a couple days later and it looked much much better. I'm not sure if it was due to a new upload or if it had to do with my internet connection at the time. Please check and make sure you are streaming in the highest HD your internet connection will allow.

If you are interested the above video was shot in 1080@30FPS. My internet will allow me to view it at 1080 but 720 still looks great too. Hopefully, you can get it up and running properly.

On a side note, I am a huge fan of 1080@60FPS. Honestly, I prefer the highest quality at the highest frame rate. Unfortunately for the GoPro even though it has the 1080@60FPS capability some of the quality does diminish and you can see jagged edges in some places. Just something to think about when you are deciding on a format to record at.

Make sure you are watching it in 1080p on YT. I film in 1080p 30fps as well.
My YT channel defaults to 480p and I was wondering why it looked like crap. Changed it to 1080 and all is good.
I'm a Gopro newbie as well. Surprised there isn't more help on this forum.
I'm still trying to figure out why my images look so far away as compared to real life? I'm filming in narrow FOV, which helped but the heli still looks so far away?

YouTube has 2 processing qualities and treats uploads according to its quality.

Anything below 1080 gets the lower quality treatment.

So if you want 720 videos to look good on Youtube, you will have to convert to 1080p prior to uploading.
