Looks great.

Most BEAM lovers in U.S. bummed out over non-availability.

Keep us updated!

I´ve checked the parts list on heli-design, and it seems the tail pitch lever is not that nice articulated mechanism but a simple plastic 90 ºarm.
That doesn't match with the brand motto, looks quite "cheap" on such a nice tail case.
Must be sold as an upgrade i guess.

Can you give me the time/date stamp of that info?. I would give Beam a bit more credit than that (yet, I just may be wrong), can anyone who has bought & owns one jump in here and let us know for sure which is supplied in the kit?

Also would like a link to who is selling them and a price?

With Thanks

The tail pitch arm is plastic, and I don't know if it will be available in metal in near future.

Other than that, it works perfect even though it's plastic ;-)

And now there are one 'weak' part when hitting the ground :-)

Don't know about price and where to buy neither.

I'm all after precision and slopless operation.
Having Beam such a wonderful mechanism that seems to work so nicely without the bulk and weight from dual support, it's quite weird to see a plain old plastic bit, doesn't match with the machine at all.
They even went a step further providing a nice support for the elevator servo shaft, and on the tail (most critical part on a heli), downgrade from the sistem they had in the prototypes.
I really think it will be sold as upgrade, they have some nice upgrades (look at their tasty upgrade main gear).
I think this model won't be popular outside Korea, Beam has way less vendors that they had a year ago.
The market must be huge in Asia to don't bother with the rest of the world

Ahhh ok thanks for that, well i guess if I put it in backwards/or tumble then it does become a break away point i imagine, and it seems to work fine on the 600 (and it is available in metal upgrade) so if thats the only complaint people have, then BEAM is on another winner.

At $489.90 (Euro) then I would be looking at Au$709.00 which cant be right as I can buy a 600 for Au$659.00, so Id be interested to know what they SELL for in Oz, but importer isn't bringing them in ATM as he's waiting to see the beta results, but not much fanfare or feedback as of yet.

Id be on one for around $500 but not more than the 600, guess I will have to wait till they start to emerge on the "used" market to get my hands on one.

Regards

i think the reason why the price is 489.90 euro is that the kit includes motor and servos.
look at rasmush-dk video at the begenning at the tread

+1
It seems to come with a 4015 for that price.

Nice, i like the optional LG, looks like I will have to chase one down in Asia (neighbours really compared to Europe) and if it is so that they come with a motor & servo's, that makes it harder to resist. Ill have to look a bit deeper to get the motor/servo specs.(Edit~~ they are the Nexus 611's)

It also appears they have included a Gryphon BEC as well, so this is starting to look like a deal.
Wonder who's motor their putting their name on? Looks similar to a Neu?

Overall a nice package, but the box is droll(yea i know, just pitch it in the can when heli is built, but in the shop it wouldn't draw your attention. Still...rather the parts to a pretty looking box.)

RasmusDK, how is it you appear to have a line to all the updates? (as in, you appear to have very fresh information a lot of the time regarding Beam).

Cheers

Yes it has the gryphon agena bec included.

From my perspective, it looks more like a scorpion motor, but I can't be sure.
I've been told it's their own creation, build special for archon

I don't know what combo there will be.
But I can't imagine price will be way off what it's included.

The package, well. It's just a box holding parts...

It should not be the box that should sell the kit..

I find much information on Internet, and on Facebook, beamfreaks group ;-)

Hey guys/gals.... it's been 6 months nearly now, and as i come here (HF) for Beam info (the other forums i visit have much less Beam traffic) it appears to have been very quiet on the Archon 500 front particularly, but Beam in general.

SO.... whats the verdict from the beta testers out there? Do we have a winner on our hands or is it a dud? I don't do FB so am not in touch with any live feeds...

Yeah, i'm a dinosaur and need putting down, but come on folks, a bit more excitement needs to be generated so i can convince the Oz importer to take this one on as well.

What have been your own experiences with the Archon, what do you like the most, what would you change/modify/upgrade?

I appreciate it's now coming onto winter in the North, but weather is getting just fine for flying down here, and i'd like to see a 500 in my Hangar before the summer/autumn (fall) arrives.

FEEDBACK PLEASE !!!!!

Regards
BH

Beta testers?

It's been quite a while since the production batch hit the shelves:-)

All I have been in contact with are very happy with their archon, and didn't see any part that need upgrading.

I guarantee you won't be disappointed if you ever get one.

Best regards

It looks like a nice heli but personally I can't see myself getting any 500 size heli right now considering that for just a little bit more money I could get a 600. Now if Beam made a 700 class heli...that would make me interested in buying another heli from them.

Yeah well, i do have the 600 already and the 450's, so an in-betweener is calling out to me.

On another note, of those of you who DO have one, what blades (size more than anything) are you guys using. I recall they were talking about 485's, but is anyone using true 500/520 blades yet or are you all just flying stock?

Also... has anyone put an Archon into a fuse yet? Let me know how it went if so.

Oh..... and HAPPY NEW YEAR to one and all.

Cheers

Does anyone know what motor can be used besides the Beam motor?

I've an airframe on the way.

Thank you for your help.
