Sorry for the late response.

I've checked both and am having trouble locating the small bootloader hex file for ATMega, and no luck trying Google searches.

Could someone please point me to the correct location for bootloader hex file?

Also very much appreciated would be any guidance on fuse settings and lock bits (AFRO 12A, ATMega8).

Thanks,

The Bootloader files are linked into BLHeliSuite, but I can provide the files separately here of course. Let me know any questions....

Fuses need to be set to allow EESAVE, and BOOTSZ can be changed to 256 words.
EESAVE is not necessary, one should not set it. Anyway: All fuses are set automatically if flashing is done with BLHeliSuite.

Is there any effort towards making BLHeli Setup open source or at least making it run on OSX/linux?

Does BLHeli support LiFePo4 batteries? I'm going to change all my LiPo's into LiFe batts for safety reasons.

Default USB "device" confusion

Now that BLheli "suite" supports both SiLabs and AtMel chip type ESC, can I use the usb flashing tool that I have that has worked with the XP7 esc I have on my old McpxV1 bl conversion?

I really like the TX gov mode and woudl likek to try flashing a large ESC (60-80 amp) of some brand but am not sure if my "tool" works with non SiLab esc's?

Also, does anyone have a suggestion on an ESC to look at for thsi larger amp requirement. I'm going to put it on a Gaui 425 type flybar heli.

Thanks.

The port for programming Atmel is technical different. So you can't use the toolstick.
You should get something like Arduino Nano or Uno...

I'm not an expert here. I would suggest to ask here or here.

Anyone convert a hubsan FPV x4 mico yet? I walked into a LHS to buy some carbon rod for my still going v1 convert and walked out with a micro FPV quad. I have been staying away from you freaks and the LHS's this long for this very reason. Lol

Can a I feed any BLHeli ESC with a PWM input signal (not PPM) trough the signal wire? The esc recongnizes it? It is a question that is not clear for me.

Thanks,

Yes.

You can find infos in the manual https://github.com/bitdump/BLHeli/ra...%20Rev13.x.pdf

Quote:
All codes support 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz and 12kHz PWM
input signal in environments where the ESC takes its input
from a source that would normally drive a brushed motor.
The code also supports regular 1-2ms pulse width PPM input
or OneShot125 (125-250us), at a rate up to around 500Hz.
The input signal is automatically detected by the ESC upon
power up

Hi guys,

I'm searching for the BLHeli flash manual for the TAQX-Box (Turnigy Aquastar Box).
Does one exist? Any pointers on the process of getting this one upgraded with BLHeli goodness?

Thanks !

Sorry, I had not the time.
https://www.helifreak.com/attachment...0&d=1350769767
Is similar, but all is done through BLHeliSuite now.

I missed to take a picture but:
C2D = PB5
C2CK = PB4 (or signal wire for Atmel)
GND = GND

Let me know, if you have questions...

Default Help! I'm going blind from staring at this.

I have been trying to flash bs 12a esc with BLHeli, but have had no success.
I'm running Win8.1, BLHeliSuite Beta [Atmel mode], Turnigy USB Linker, SiLabs driver.
Have checked and re-checked all connections, removed and re-installed, threatened my PC with dynamite and accused it's mother of having a very questionable line of work.
Nothing has helped, not even Googleing for an answer.
I just get this:
Stk500v2 connection to BESC at COM3 failed!
(Error: "CMD_SIGN_ON: read = > Timeout (no answer)")
Please check usb/serial Port- und power-connections to the BESC!

Hilfe, bitte!

You need to do an initial ISP flash to get the SK bootloader on this ESC.

Lightbulb One more flasher for BlHeli

Hi! I did not have any Arduino or of any other box to flash. But I had a board STM32-discovery VL. To flash my XP-7A BESC I had to write firmware using description of the C2 protocol and blHeli protocol (v5)
To work needed USB-USART adapter and STM32 Discovery-VL board, also some program tool to flash STM32 Discovery. CoFlash, for example. Here is links to tools
http://1drv.ms/1F4g8EO - Firmware for STM32vl-Discovery
http://1drv.ms/1F4ghrQ - Pinout
http://www.coocox.org/software/CoFlash.php - Flasher for STM32vl-Discovery.
To flash Discovery board, chose ST controller STM32F100RB and ST-link on the config tab, and bin file above (DiscovryVL-BlHeli-Interface.bin) on the command tab. After flashing and connecting you may flash and config BlHeli on the si-labs microcontroller based BESCs. USB of Discovery board must be connected to PC. Tested only with XP-7A BESC, but it must work on any single motor si-labs microcontroller based BlHeli capable BESC.
Sory for my English.

Great!
Please note:
The protocol will change a bit to rev. 6.
BLHeliSuite 13.2.0.1 will no longer accept rev. 5 or earlier.

But for C2 no big changes:
cmd_DeviceGetID is not longer needed and supported.
cmd_InterfaceTestAlive should internally try to get DevID and respond with ACK_D_GENERAL_ERROR on failure.

Will update the protocol pdf soon...

Default Throttle Change Rate removed

I saw on the revision notes for Blheli that the throttle change rate parameter was removed in v13. What was the reason for removing it? Is there another parameter that does the same thing? I'm having motor sync issues that happen during gusts of wind, and I think that lowering the change rate would help. I've set the demag compensation to high and that seems to increase reliability, but it still fails sometimes.
