Default Any compatible parts for the tail driven gear set?
All the parts I _thought_ I needed came today. Started putting everything back together, slow and meticulous... Got to the point where I turned the head by hand and heard a ticking sound. Came to find out that one of the teeth on the tail driven gear (the bottom one) is shot. This part (EK1-0544):

(in that picture, it'd be the top gear).

Are there any compatible parts that I might be able to pick up at the LHS or am I grounded waiting for parts to ship again?

I have never had the larger gear fail, but certainly the smaller pulley is susceptible to loosing teeth. Because of the gearing ratios involved, you are best advised to get a direct replacement. Unless someone knows different........LOL
