one ways logo600sxv2
i know this has been discussed over and over but how often should the oneway be re-greased or relaced. whats the consensus. i blew one out running 2250 without a crash but now i want to keep it at 2060 as its plenty for anything. just rebuilt it and man its great even in windy conditions!!
thanks in advance!! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

NEVER. DO NOT grease it. DO NOT lube it. IT COMES PRE-LUBED!
People fail to realize this. Then they use grease or oil that ends up resinating and sticking the clamping elements to the cage, either disabling the OWB's function altogether or overloading the remaining elements, breaking the OWB. The lube applied at the factory is completely sufficient and made especially for this OWB. Any additional lubricant will do damage. This is also what Mikado is gonna tell you when you ask them. I've been running my 600's and 690's OWB dry. 690 has flown for a year, 600 for 4 years. Flawlessly. This is my OWB from 2012, never lubed, thousands of flights at 2100-2300rpm.

Jonas. mine slipped almost causing a catosprophic crash. never greased it. 100 flights or less. took apart and found mainshaft wore. replaced with a new. all good now. used automatic transmission fluid. i will take it apart every 50-60 flights and clean and reapply atf.

Wtf.. You're the first person to tell me their OWB failed unlubed. You were far outside the rpm limits though. How much collective do you run?

12 Degrees but i also did a ton of hard hard overspeeds. cyclone blades also which create monstrous amounts of lift and don't give much. not a big deal i'm gonna lube this one every 50 flights or so. Maybe more like 75. time will tell. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Good luck, keep in mind though, these are not made to be lubed.

I agree with Jonas, run it as it comes out of the box.
If you have slippage replace shaft and bearing together and back to it. L600 has limits on power. It was not designed for 12S & big power motors back in 08'. Back then 10S was King with a Jazz 55 and Scorp 4035. I think if you are popping bearings you need to slow er down some and watch collective or do like I did and de-tune it some.

I've had them fail un-lubed, had them fail greased too. Best lifespan for me by far has been from using a drop of transmission fluid on one-way every flying session.

Yes. I'm using that thin extension tubing. Could use an oil pen or similar.

I agree with Jonas. I did never do that. I had the Logo 600sx v1 and now the v2. With the v1 hundreds of flights, and now the v2 nearly hundred flights. For me no go
Hoe Mentalic? You can't get by the one way. You must put a drop of lub on the mainshaft and remove the counterbearing Right? Otherwise its complitely build in. |

Been there tried that. Triflow is just too slippery, my oneways would slip under heavy load with it.
One way is a friction clutch so you need lube thats not a high pressure lube. I've looked up what the bearing vendors recommend for needle bearing oneway's. Transmission fluid. I'm sure there special grease's out there that could work but they tend to dry out and restrict the movement of the needle's and springs in the clutch, so transmission fluid. Using no lube resulted in the brass bushing cutting the main shafts and once you don't have the one way properly centered they slip. I do allot of autos so there's plenty of time there spinning on the main. So flying style does have some impact on how long they last for you. Just saying I've tried allot of things to make them last because I'd rather be flying than working on a heli.

Wayne,
I've been running my one-ways with nothing but what is on them when I get them. I've used lithium grease (long time ago) and med weight, plastic safe oil up until last year. I do notice a little more wear on the 600SE main shafts now. I've long read about using trans fluid and given your success, I think I'm going to try it. Are there 2 or 3 premium brands (or types) that I should look for?

Even using the ATF the needles in the one-way cold roll the main shaft over time. You can tell because there's a lip formed at the edge of there track so when you try and replace a main-shaft bearing it sticks there.
