Default Photos Direct From The Factory - New TREX 500

OK, I know everyone is anxious to see as many photos as they can. Please keep one thing in mind, this is still a prototype. Almost every picture you see will be different.

They are still making changes to parts on a daily basis. As with any new product, it must be tested and perfected.

This means that the weight, blades, motor system, batteries, and part designs are not yet final. I will continue to provide as much information as I can, as it becomes available.

We are very excited about this machine. The T-REX 500 is the perfect size for all levels of pilots. It is large enough to see and be stable, yet small enough to still fly in your backyard or at your local park. It will be perfect for beginners and yet still plenty of funny for experienced pilots.

Best Regards,

Hi Bob,

We are shooting for the end of November. Jason and Alan are working very hard, long days to complete the testing, as soon as that is finalized it will go into production.

I had the privelage of visiting the factory this summer, and it is truly amazing how quickly they are able to take something from a drawing to a production piece!

As with anything Align releases, the T-REX 500 will be priced well and the parts will be readily available and affordable! It's going to be a fun holiday season.

Woot! Can't wait!

But please make a jillion of 'em on first release so we can ALL have a shiny new heli under the tree.

I cant wait to get one and do a build video for everyone to enjoy!

I am sure there are now going to be lots of questions so people can get ready with electronics. So I will ask some. I realize some of this will change but these might be easy if known now.

What servo sizes will it support? I see the pics show a JR3400G right now so assumption is MINI type servos like the 3400, S9650, etc.

What batteries e.g. cells and size is recommended? Last I heard Align wanted to allow people to use 2 Trex450 2100 batts in series? Looking at the flying picture shared earlier it does look like a large 3S or 4S pack like maybe a 3700ma is being tested?

What is the blade size? Based on the picture is looks like 425mm?

Anyway not to put you on the spot but some minor specs would be cool if they can be shared at this time

Bob

My entire decision on 8S or 10S may depend on the battery size of the 500!
Looks great so far!

All of the info you want is subject to change at this point. I can tell you what we were anticipating, but it is just speculation.

425mm blades
4-6S
mini servos

That was the target, now depending on how well the design transferred from computer to reality we will have to wait and see what the final specs will be.

Just know that the goal is to have decent flying times on a well built, stable, and really fun flying machine. What ever it takes to accomplish that, will be done.

Tail servo?
Mini or standard size?

Looks like a mini at this post http://www.thetrexforums.com/index.p...,2287.195.html

AHH, great.
So four 9650's or 3400G's.
Cant wait for this one.

I was this close [---] to clicking the BUY button on an HDX 500 when I heard rumors the Trex 500 was gonna be a year away. I needed a 500 heli fix, and like most heli guys, very impatient and I couldnt wait any longer!
A month or two, with proper medication, I think I can hold out
