Possibly, what voltage?

My server PSUs are 1400W I think, 2 in series (modified as necessary) giving about 25v. That's not enough to get the most out of the PL8 though, needs 32v input I think to extract the full output from it. Plenty enough for me though.

Approaching 2C here, don't quite get there when the MPA board is fully loaded but close enough and I don't want to go faster.

2 PL8s 8-) There's always someone with a bigger charger..

Apart from ease of use, the software allows you to log the charge cycle. This, in turn, allows you to monitor the battery aging.

I just want to use one set of good batteries to fly so I can save $ on battery and many batteries have a high charge rate

Hi Sake,

Play with the calculators at Revolectrix web site: http://www.revolectrix.com/pl8_calcu...PL8_Calc_1.htm
As you can see a 6s-5000 can be charged @ 38A calculated at only 85% efficiency. In reality the PL8 usually performs above 85%. I regularly charge 6s-5000 packs with my PL8 @ 40A. Usually takes less than 10 minutes to charge at this rate.

my guess is 2 packs 10Amp hours that would be 4C at 40Amp
sounds right i tested my PL8 with 4 6S 3000mAh packs at 40amps and got ~14min to charger them

so each 1c is 5amps right ? so for me to do 4 5000 amp packs isn't that 20c ?

Not very good at parallel charging and setting the charge rates yet, hence why im asking

4x 5000mAh packs would be 20amps for 1C rate or 40amps at 2C rate
each pack is 5amp hours and 1C charge would be 5 amps
2 packs 10amp hours and 1C charge would be 10amps
etc

you can do all 3 sets at 1.3C 40amps
just do one set at time at up to 4C up to 40 amps
your best plan is 1 set 2 packs at time at 40amps
that should take ~12min to 15 min to charge one set of packs ie one flights worth
figure 5min ish flights + loading / unloading and BSing with the guys should let you fly back to back with the 3 sets of back

at home you can charge all 3 sets at 40amps and have all your packs ready in under a hour
