450 size 4 Blade Tail Rotor Blades

I decided to go with a 4 bladed tail rotor to get my tail authority with my 5 bladed head assy and I have looked and I can not find any 450 Size "Scale" Tail Rotor Blades. Anyone know if there is such a thing? Thanks for your time.

I think I have the same..if not, very similar design as posted. I used it in my Pavehawk.

If it is the same, then u might want to take a look on the pitch range. I used it in my Pavehawk with main rotor spin at CCW rotation and with tail on the right spinning upward (just like in real Pavehawk) and it suffers from uneven pitch range throw. In the end, I modify the linkages in order to have equal throw.

You can also go the DIY route. The attached photos show my solution for a scale "stacked" tail rotor assy for a TREX 450 (SE V2) with a torque-tube tail. These mechanics will make their way into an MD-500 body I've got but I've been having so much fun flying the mechanics that I don't want to take it "off-line" to put the fuse on!

Not quite sure what you are showing me here, I see the AH56 Cheyenne with the scale tail rotor blades I am looking for but where can I get them?

Ok are u looking for tail blades or a tail rotor. Because the link i put on here is for a four bladed tail rotor

Why not just use normal plastic blades (like KDBB) and paint them ?

I contacted RCA and they said they could not break up the set. I don't want to have to pay $50 for a set of tail blades. Anyone need UH-1 main blades, maybe we can go in a couple of sets.

Why don't you just use the 450 Pro style tail blade? They are readily available and look pretty close to the part.

i use the pro style blade on my md530. painted up to look scale. cant tell the difference.

Will they be too much or can I cut them down? Remember, I would be using 4 of them.

I use three on my setup. Remember, the tail will only "use" what it takes to keep her straight. This will just make it easier for your tail servo, as it wouldn't take that much movement to get the tail to move..

Cutting on them will just decrease thier effectiveness.

+1 on the Pro blades, got 4 running just fine on my 4 blader

these guys are correct. the tail will only use whats needed. pro blades are readily available and most shops that carry align.

on a side note, if you do paint them please use an airbrush and paint them very lightly. i think i slightly thinned the paint so it would flow thru the brush. then just did 2 light coats as to not add too much weight to the blades and get good coverage. what ever you do, dont try to brush paint them. one. it looks terrible (ive tried) and two it add way too much weight to the blades.

Picked up the last four blades they had in stock, thanks for the advice on painting. I was going to use my airbrush with Tamiya paints, they go on real thin and very durable.
